Thanks for sharing it, beastie. I enjoyed it too.

It was interesting re-reading this 2005 debate. The Juliann/beastie debates need an archive.

From that thread: beastie and Juliann go for nine pages back and forth (and this is only one thread), then beastie writes:

Juliann,

Are we posting on the same thread? Unbelievable.

LOL.

Debating with Juliann was really crazy making. It was apt she wrote an essay about Alice in Wonderland. She just got the characters a bit mixed up.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I have never managed to get along with juliann for long. She's a little too abrasive for my taste.
“I was hooked from the start,” Snoop Dogg said. “We talked about the purpose of life, played Mousetrap, and ate brownies. The kids thought it was off the hook, for real.”

No kidding. She was the one who "welcomed" me to FAIR by repeatedly calling me a liar and a plagiarist, without the slightest justification. She repeatedly ignored my answers to her questions. When I finally broke down and complained about her, I was banned. (so was TruthDancer, for standing up for me!) It should be noted that Juliann was a moderator at the time (and still appears to be)

I do think MAD, as a whole, has kind of followed Juliann's lead as far as tone. That's why I can't stand the place and refuse to post there.

As totally frustrating as some of those discussions were, I do find myself laughing at the memory. :-)

I remember one time in particular when I was asked to document that one didn't have to be married in order to help others.

Seriously... I'm not kidding!

Ahh good times!

Good. Then both of us are fine with not attempting sustained serious conversation on a serious topic.

Oh, I know, I laugh about a lot of it now, too. Funny memories - but not enticing enough to return. It's one of those things that, while you're experiencing, you say "we'll laugh about this one day". But while you're experiencing it you want to bang your head against a wall!

Of course I'm fine with it. I would never expect a serious conversation from someone who deliberately omits the most important part of a statement I made. (see your sig line)

But don't expect me to stop teasing you.

OK. I do expect you to quote me correctly in your sig line. You need to add: that's why I joined the Mormon church.

Thanks in advance.
