Which pretty well illustrates the fact that you're taking it very seriously.

Incidentally, I'm also not going to discuss methodology, epistemology, philosophy of history, or any related topics with you.

Life is short.

In the context of a sig line on an internet board, yeah.

Incidentally, I'm also not going to discuss methodology, epistemology, philosophy of history, or any related topics with you.

Life is short.

I'm shocked, I tell ya, just shocked.

Apparently life is only short when you're asked to discuss something of substance. Apparently life is quite long when it comes to mindless, pointless banter about your character and traits.

by the way, you're the one who brought the topic up. Yet now you don't want to discuss it. Ok. Thanks for letting me know the rules.

Master Scartch has a signature that suggests that I would like to kill him, for example, yet I don't think you've expressed any reservations about that one, and there are plenty of others that misrepresent either me or somebody else on the other "side." But you're fine with all of those.

Oh well. Human nature, I suppose.

I'll change my signature line when I get around to it. The more you badger me about it, though, the longer it's likely to take.

Oh, she did. She is, after all, the Olympian Judge Harmony.

A person who doesn't devote himself to this board as the ideal place for serious intellectual discussion simply cannot really be interested in serious intellectual discussion at all!, and must be a coward and a hypocrite.

P.S. Incidentally, your own current signature line "Enjoy DCP's methodology being shot down by a fellow apologist," contains a slight mistake. The "white crow" point isn't mine. It was originated by and borrowed from the notoriously incompetent Mormon apologist William James.

James was yet another example of an otherwise brilliant person who could believe in patently silly things.

A lesson in humility for those of us who think that we are too smart or clever to be hoodwinked or believe in the absurd.

Beastie. Beastie.

There's a big discussion going on -- an entire very large world exists -- beyond this board.

Theists and atheists, Mormons and non-Mormons, alike.

Incidentally, to my considerable surprise, I've come to the tentative conclusion over the past 3-4 years that James's interest in certain paranormal phenomena was not misplaced. (To be discussed elsewhere, eventually.)

Oh, you're kidding me!! I wonder if the myriad of books I've been reading by experts in ancient Mesoamerica, archaeology, even ancient Israel are part of that very large world out there???? Could it be???? Could it be???

Dan, I think it's fine that you participate here just to let off steam. That's clearly what you're doing. I think you are often unfairly targeted in a personal way, as some sort of "apologist archetype", so I can't say I blame you for lashing out. But you really have to stop pretending that it's lack of time, or that the characters here are beneath you, that's it's just a "gotcha" that is below you, that the sneering is below you, blahblahblahblah. It's silly. You bring up a serious topic - like how James used "white crow" - and then you refuse to discuss you what you brought up. It's like you want your cake and eat it too. Or, I know - it's like you're used to MAD.

Beastie, I'm sorry that my failure to take you seriously as a conversation partner so upsets you.

But there it is.

Why don't you just let it go?

I don't have that much faith.....world outside this board? Clear lunacy.

I'm actually open-minded (though highly skeptical and requiring pretty extraordinary evidence) about the paranormal. My prior is that it has to do with untapped and undocumented power of the human brain. But I'm open to be proven wrong.

It appears clear that James was, however, bamboozled, by Ms. Piper.
