That it's easier to get sex without having to resort to plural marriage. Therefore, sex is an unlikely reason for establishing plural marriage. Of course you know this, but being a truth

OK, it is morning... this still doesn't make sense to me.
We are talking about eternity here right? Are you with me?
Are you suggesting that God allows sex in heaven with those to whom one is not polygamously married? I have never heard this. Of course going through a ritual would be unnecessary if God allowed random sex with anyone in heaven. I'm still not sure of your point.
You do believe a man has sex in heaven with all his many wives right?
My understanding of LDS doctrine is that only those in the CKHL.. the polygmously married folks get to have sex, would you say this is doctrine? And harem members would not be allowed to have sex with other men so who would be there to have random sex with?
So, how does sex in heaven become easier to get without being polygamous married.
I'm confused. :-(
Or, if you are talking about getting sex on the earth (which was not the topic - I specifically stated men waiting for the day when they would be able to have multiple women in heaven), maybe you are saying that sex is easier to get without being married?
Not for Joseph Smith and his friends. Joseph Smith found an effective way to justify his affairs, and remain a prophet to his followers (at least the true believers).
God commanded men to not commit adultery. Joseph Smith knew early tribal men (prophets and Kings) had multiple wives, concubines, and slaves. He was a prophet, soon to be King of the world (or something). He could have a harem too. Simple as that. That is MUCH easier than sneaking around with and paying for prostitutes.
Of course he did keep his affairs secret for what, 10 years or so, but word got out... (oops). ;-)
