It took 5 hours to download the database, 3 hours to update it to the new system, and another 10 hours to upload the database (my upload speed is much lower than my download speed).

So basically, it was impossible to grab all the latest posts.

To be fair, I warned all of ya'll on the old system :P

That's life on the Internet, and if you own a PC. Last week my hard drive was destroyed because of an electrical fault.

Cost of new tower and added accessories: $858.00

Cost of information lost: Monetary worth not relevant. Cannot be replaced.

Lesson learned: Save all important information to CD or DVD.

Life goes on.

The old database still exists. I was gonna give it a couple weeks just in case. If there's anything /diabolically/ important in there, I can still get it.

Of course then the only problem becomes convincing me it's important enough to dig :P
