What the heck

Post by _Jersey Girl »

1. Where's the chat?
2. I see a chat option at the top of the page, but I don't see where it lists folks who are logged into chat.
3. PM's: What is the significance of "friend" or "foe"? (Is that an ignore?)
4. Keene mentioned that the new stuff would delete nested quotes. Does anyone
know how many quote boxes it WILL allow?

1. That link that says "chat" ? That's the chat.

2. I'm workin on it. Once you log in to the chat, there's a link to show who's online, on the right side of the page, right above the dice roll option. I'm thinking of doing one of two things (or both): Put the list of users on the bottom of the page, like the old forum -- or, just put the number of chatters in parenthesis next to the chat link, so it'll say "Chat (0)" or "Chat (10)" ... It really just depends on what's easier to program.

3. As I understand it, "foe's" will be ignored in the general forum, however PM's may still go through. Or it might be the other way around. I don't know, since as an admin it refuses to let me ignore anyone, and I'm far too lazy to create a test user account. There are extra Friend and Foe settings in the blog as well, you can make individual posts readable/commentable by only friends, only foe's, everyone, no one, whatever.

4. Apparently it doesn't /delete/ nested quotes, it will just throw up an error if there are too many. It can go 2 quotes deep right now -- shades does have the ability to change that number if he sees fit, I just guessed at something he'd like when I was setting it up.

So, people can push the ignore button on people now? I thought that was something not to be done.
"HOW DARE YOU KEEP US WAITING!!!!! I demand you post right this very instant or I'll... I'll... I'll hold my breath until I slump over and bang my head against the keyboard resulting in me posting something along the lines of "SR Wphgohbrfg76hou7wbn.xdf87e4iubnaelghe45auhnea4iunh eb9uih t4e9h eibn z"! *shrug* came with the software. Shades can disable that feature if he wants.

Okay...back to this chat thing again. When I click the chat, it shows the chat screen, then immediately goes to an "Ajax" registration something or other. I tried filling in the template and it just keeps going back to the "Ajax" registration thing.

I don't understand how this is meant to work or IF it works.

Has anyone else tried it?

Not having a chat isn't a big deal, I'm just trying to confine my whining and moaning to one issue at a time.

One more minor whine...when you look at the board index, it looks much like the previous index except for the wide turquoise bars that divide the forums.

Is there anyway for us to change the color of the turquoise bars to something a little less...blinding/intrusive/invasive/neon/psychedelic/obtuse/obnoxious/nauseating/dizzying/stupifying/migraine producing/optically offensive?

Edit: Okay, it's not really minor. It really bugs me. Alot.

Editing again: I mean ALOT. As in my eyeballs want to pop out of my head and roll around on the key board.

And I'd like the font to be bigger. A lot bigger.

I mean like my eyeballs just DID pop out of my head and are now rolling around on the keyboard. I mean like for real rolling around on the keyboard.

They're doing it right now. Only my powers of concentration are enabling me to type since my fingers keep touching these little round squishy things.

Warm squishy things.

Warm wet squishy things.

p.s. Green ones.

I'm in the chat. It seems to be working fine.

But it's okay if you can't change it. Really. I'll just knock my eyeballs into my tea cup, stuff them back in my head and go do something else.

Like forever.
