I remember thinking at that time in 1978, I would have gladly sacrificed myself to keep that poor missionary pure and if need be I would have sacrificed myself again and again to the insatiable Miss McKinney. I am sure that the Church would have been grateful to have spared that missionary such an ordeal.

I'd say it comes from a possessive personality and jealousy coupled with lack of contentment in life. When people lack real contentment they build fantasies in their mind of what they think they should have [or they deserve...damnit!], particularly if around a given personality. Go long enough and the ideal dreams become poisonous and they seep into reality. Why not? The dream is better than reality so why not indulge with yourself.

Ah who knows. Not officially [although he was into necrophilia] any evidence but he was suspected in the murders of 100 women [only 30 or so confirmed] so I wouldn't put it past him...freak.

Given that Mormonism was one of several religions that Ted Bundy passed through and called his own at one point, he would quite possibly post on a board like this, too.

Serial killers scare me. My dad has an entire crime library thingie (I've even met Dr. Henry Lee at some conference) and I read a bunch of them growing up. Not the usual things you buy at the book store -- some REAL sicko crap! It was because of his profession. Scared me to death. A few summers ago I spent the entire time reading the crime library on line. I'll tell you what -- who needs boogie woogie fiction when humanity creates it, at times. :/
