"Ten sentences" or not, I was taught that in church in the sixties. Also I was taught that each black person had a very special talent that was away above average and it was up to that individual black person to use it for good or for bad. My parents and grandparents used Sammy Davis, Jr. as one good example said most of the rest used their special talent for criminal activities. Very racist attitude.
I pretty much believed my parents were right until the 4th grade. My 4th grade was in 1962 in the beginning of the civil rights movement. I had really a intelligent male teacher from Texas that demonstrated in various ways the stupidity of racism and prejudice. I am forever grateful for him, his name is Fred Miller. I have never seen him or known of him since 1962.
This education I got was the first time I realized in my life that my parents and grand parents weren't right about everything. I attribute this one instance and time of my life as instrumental in learning to think in a different way and on my own. Though it took years and years later to get out of the Mormon bondage, I don't think that I ever would have if I hadn't began at an early age understanding that what my parents, grandparents and church leaders were teaching was not always correct. In defense of my parents and grandparents they only parroted what they were taught by the church.
In 1978, when the ban was lifted my grandfather nearly left the church and he didn't attend for well over a year. He finally went back but in his heart I know he was still racist. It has been many years ago my grandparents passed but even today my parents are very much against mixed marriage, no matter what "ten sentences" are told them by the brethren today that is was never taught or wasn't doctrine.
I think Nehor you need to go back and reread for the first time the "ten sentences" you think are out of context.
