Geez Scottie, now I'm never gonna stop watching all those Chad Vader videos out there. They made a reference to Chad Vader in one of the Star Wars Rifftrax and I was wondering where that was from.

Anyways, while this isn't a YouTube video, it is a video that was released exclusively on the Internet by Joss Whedon. It's called Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and while it's 45 minutes long, it is very, very entertaining. It stars Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser), Nathan Fillion (Waitress, Firefly, Caleb in Buffy Season 7) and Felicia Day (potential slayer Vi in Buffy Season 7).

So, if you have a spare 45 minutes, I highly recommend it.

EDIT: Here is a clip of one of the songs in the show so you can decide in 2 minutes if you want to watch the whole thing ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN3eBvZvUXk

2girls1cup isn't even close to the worst thing ever distributed on the internets. You want to see true horror? The kind of thing that once seen can never be unseen and will shake your very faith in the existence of a kind and loving God?

Go google "Swap.avi" and "Church of Fudge". I won't link to them here because those two videos are the sort of Eldritch horror that one must seek on their own. You have been warned.

I'm attempting to respond in the spirit of the thread.

I have no opinion on whether or not this is "funny."

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog is just plain AWESOME. One of the few things I've ever bought off of iTunes and the first music I've seen since Chicago that I actually liked.

Whoops! I just edited this post because I forgot about the "nothing related to Mormonism" rule. Sorry guys!

None of them depict actual suicides. People title them that way either as jokes or as "hooks" to get you to watch them.

I certainly do: Yes, it's pretty damned funny!!

It is?? I've watched portions of it in the past, and I apologize for being a wet blanket, but for the life of me I just can't see the appeal.

Maybe one or both of you could explain it to me?

Depends. For starters, are you the kind of person who can appreciate a good musical?

Also, have you watched any of Joss Whedon's other films or tv shows? He did Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly & its big-screen film continuation, Serenity. He was also a co-writer for Toy Story and Titan A.E., and now he's doing the Buffy & Angel comics.

My devotion to Joss Whedon aside, I liked Dr. Horrible's for all of these reasons: I loved the music, I love superhero/supervillain live-action stuff (be they serious or well-done camp comedy), and the movie still told a good story for essentially being a three-person act. It deals with themes like how you can do evil things to try and bring about something good, you can do good while still being an ugly person, and seeing your dreams realized doesn't necessarily make you happy.

Joss Whedon's humor is kind of something you have to acquire a taste for, and I understand if it doesn't appeal to everybody.
