Hi guys, just checking in. Its been a month since I stepped away from MDB and I can say that I really do miss you guys and gals, even Nehor, in the same way you enjoy picking at a scab. So whats it like out here? Its pretty good. Frankly I have been stepping away from Mormonism in the same way you step away from an abusive relationship where you learn that the other person really doesn't give a damn about you unless you are submitting to their destructive will. I'm learning that I had let the church still control me, just as I let other destructive forces control me in the past.
In other news I am writing more. I plan on completing my novel that has been languishing as an unfinished testament to my outlook for over three years. Hopefully I can get that wrapped up and off to the proofing gnomes soon.
The kids are growing, the house is slowly being upgraded and I am diving into work, Cisco certifications and a more healthy outlook on life. Past dysfunctional family issues aside I am slowly repairing my life. Mormonism was, i now realize, just a symptom of a distorted outlook and not the cause of the skew. It certainly further distorted my life but now that it does not hold me back from my true potential I am free to be a better person who holds to a standard devoid of bigotry, shame and arrogance.
Once again, thanks everyone. Stay in touch! I probably will visit here every now and then, sometimes more than occasionally. Email me, PM me or send smoke signals. I always will do my best to respond. If any of you come through the Memphis area drop me a note and if I'm ever behind the zion curtain (or anywhere you might be) again I will be sure to try and set up a lunch. I'm always traveling so I guess we'll see.
PS: Coggins, you are still devoid of humanity. DCP, you still are undeserving of respect in academia. Shades, you are my hero!

Mercury's Dispatch from Olympus
And crawling on the planet's face
Some insects called the human race
Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

Can we assume based on your title that you have taken up the worship of Zeus......or perhaps Aphrodite?

Good to read things are going well for you. Best luck with your novel. Put me on the want-one list. Warm regards, Roger

An anachronism (from the Greek "ana" "ανά", "against, anti-", and "chronos" "χρόνος", "time") is anything that is temporally incongruous in the time period it has been placed in—that is, it appears in a temporal context in which it seems sufficiently out of place as to be peculiar, incomprehensible or impossible. The item is often an object, but may be a verbal expression, a technology, a philosophical idea, a musical style, a material, a custom, or anything else closely enough bound to a particular period as to seem odd outside it.
There. You are now in on the joke.
