You aren't honestly trying to conflate Hamblin's "prank" with academic freedom are you?

I'm not sure anyone saw this comment, so I'll just move it down a bit and bold it. The advertisement right under it kinda hides it.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Must kill Scartch. Blood. Violence. Delicious brutality. Guns. Knives. Bombs. Beautiful! Vengeance! Revenge! What lovely images. Must repress them. Mustn't let anybody know. But they're so pleasant!

DCP: you're inadvertently typing your thoughts and then shrinking them to a practically unreadable size again. I hate when that happens.

One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

I read the rewritten review. I have not seen the original--as you pointed out they are rare. So? The evidence of the original is ample. What is your point?

I would then ask you to provide this evidence.

To "conflate" the two?

Obviously not.

But the claim that a professor should have been fired for an obscure, private, unpublished joke comparing another author with a television cartoon character seems to go right for the jugular vein of anything that could reasonably be construed as academic freedom.

Actually, I think it goes in the "Stupid" box, rather than the "Academic Freedom" box, but then... hey! It's connected to BYU, so what else would be expected? Maybe "stupid" really does define "academic freedom" in Provo.

Maybe.

But you wouldn't have any real basis to know.

Thanks for sharing that. Sometimes, candidly, I become just a bit depressed about Scartch's prospects in society. It's reassuring to know that help is on its way.

I should let you know that my patience for this sort of thing is not unlimited.

Again, it is nice to know what passes for "humor" in your mind, Dan. You yourself are extremely sensitive to "jokes" about your weight. So I have to wonder why you think it is OK to "make funnies" about murdering me.

Edited to add: On second thought, I've grown quite weary of this crap from you, Dr. Peterson. Death threats are certainly actionable offenses, and I have already told you in no uncertain terms that I don't appreciate you making jokes like this. I'm seriously going to consider passing along your behavior to my attorney.

You have Peterson--who is Batman to Hamblin's Robin--openly acknowledging it right here in this thread. What more do you want you weasel.

(Misster Scratch) I should let you know that my patience for this sort of thing is not unlimited.

This is perhaps the single most ironic thing I have ever read on this message board.
I want to express my sincere thanks to the Mormon Discussions message board for helping me to see and understand the true nature of apostasy.
