Those stories were mostly sensationalized nonsense, and reasonable people realized that they were mostly nonsense years ago.

People who like stories about cheesecake weight-loss diets, Sasquatch, orbiting alien spacecraft, the Illuminati, black helicopters, and Elvis's current whereabouts, though, would be inclined to credit them completely.

I'm a nobody in the Mopologetic world - the scholarly world at that. I've never published anything related to Mormonism, yet look at you. Look at the way all three of you clowns have reacted to a few posts on the internet and some emails.

What you are doing is mean, dishonest, and immature. I'd like you stop. I don't care much for sneaky attempts to poison the well.

Stop pretending.

Just let it rest.

Screw you.

Seriously. Now we can let it rest.

(until you imply again that you know something that redeems the three of you)

On page 1 you said you had said all you were going to say about this.

Maybe you should take your own advice.

I've said nothing.

You should give it a rest, too.

BS. Most folks were and remain appalled by the Church's use of a secretive committee, headed up by two apostles, to build dossiers about 'troublesome' members and then forwarding the files to local leaders.

People who like stories about cheesecake weight-loss diets, Sasquatch, orbiting alien spacecraft, the Illuminati, black helicopters, and Elvis's current whereabouts, though, would be inclined to credit them completely.

As well as people who detest the Church's creating a group dedicated to spying on members and ratting them out to their local leaders. Apparently you are not among them, but approve of such Gestapo-like tactics to keep the masses in line, Herr Peterson.
"Moving beyond apologist persuasion, LDS polemicists furiously (and often fraudulently) attack any non-traditional view of Mormonism. They don't mince words -- they mince the truth."

-- Mike Quinn, writing of the FARMSboys, in "Early Mormonism and the Magic World View," p. x (Rev. ed. 1998)

You don't have anything to say.

So stop pretending like you do.

Get it?

Do you have any links to the survey data that supports your claim?

"Gestapo-like"?

Mini-Scartch's credibility? Meet Mr. Toilet.

(Though, I admit, very probably not on this board.)
