I thought Danny Ainge played basketball.
Anyone who farms an irrigated farm, who milks cows, who works retail, who is police/firefighter/medical is likely to work on Sunday. Heck, I'm a fundraiser and I'm working next Sunday.

(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
OH Wow! The San Diego Chargers have as many as four Mormon Football Players on their NFL Football Team.
I do like Eric Weddle, however he wasn't playing football on the defensive end well yesterday as he should've have been. The Chargers lost by two points Yesterday, 26-24, against the Carolina Panthers. I am hoping and praying that Eric Weddle will play better football next week at Denver, and that the San Diego Chargers will be able to get a Victory against the Denver Broncos at Denver next week, On Sunday.

When I was TBM, I was very discouraged by the local leadership asking guys like Ainge and Young to give youth firesides. What was it that they were attempting to teach my children and the future leaders of the church? These guys made unrighteous choices and were set up as honorable examples - worshiped even.
I got layed off by a bishop for not working at his store on Sunday. This came at the worst possible time. We had just bought a little house that year, were due for our third child the following month, had lost our health insurance the month before, 6 hours in school, but I remained true to the things I taught as a missionary. This began 3-4 of the most financially difficult years of our life.
It wasn't about "that's not fair!". It was more about personal integrity and commitment.
By the way, the missionary discussions covered "emergency services" - honorable professions (doctors, police, firemen etc.) That has never been an issue with Mormon doctrine.
I didn't want my kids to attend these Sunday sports firesides because it made a mockery of those like my wife and I that nearly sacrificed all to demonstrate our "love" for the Lord and his commandments (yuck. did I just say that? I feel like I need to go wash now)
Yes, it is utter hypocracy.
I have a deep respect for most people that walk their talk.
I probably would not have been so very strict if I hadn't served a mission where our worthiness to baptise was continually put into question - driven by guilt to perform the impossible.
We had to be perfectly obedient to baptise. We attributed disobedience for the reason we didn't baptise - even if we repented our small infractions for that month.
Aside from the doctrinal exceptions, you don't work on Sunday. Period. And even then, it is within your power to choose your profession.
These lowsy concepts carried over into my daily walk up until the last several years.
I have now discovered I am not permanently disabled.

And I add:"God" doesn't give a Sweet Mary & Joseph what you do on Sunnyday, cuz it were, :...made for Man...!" That nugget of truth got burried with other freedom-makers that don't fit non-Christianity we's been sold as the real-deal. It ain't folks!
In our time of innocence/stupidity we weren't really very smart... I have walked off night shifts, in my other life, at 11:55PM Saturdays--to a few cat-calls that helped make it all worthwhile--to be obedient. Seems the Nuremberg Trials might have crimped that one... I wrestled with having a Restaurant open Sundays... Then I THOUGHT (thinked) about it... It's all in ones evolution.
Sooooo, "Praise The Lord!" The days Paul talked about are Here & Now! The glass is clear! Media transparency is fullfilment of Prophecy!! The more truth displayed through the glass the freer even LDS will be. Don't fight it guys! Encouage it! THE ONLY TRUE CHURCH, IS NOW BECOMING THE CHURCH OF (Inspired) COMPROMISE! With more to come! Suggestions?? Bets??
