Mormons vote for a Holy Roller?

Post by _squawkeye »

Sarah Palin is a Pentecostal. I grew up in the South and saw a lot of tent revivals of these folks. Better than a circus. Snake handling with live rattlers, water moccasis and copperheads. Some of them really big ones. Talking in unknown tongues with those doing so looking like they are in a trance and babbling away to beat the band. People rolling in the aisles and under chairs and talking in tongues, tears running freely and jerking about as if having epilepsy fits.

Is this lady really one of these? Would be very interesting if a video showed up with her in the throes of this nutty behavior.

Given Mormon teaching of All are wrong but them, how could they ever vote for someone like this?

Um, where did you get the impression that LDS can't vote for non-LDS?

I believe Palin left her Pentacostal roots about 5 years ago and now attends a more "mainstream" church.

I've never voted for a Mormon presidential or vice-presidential nominee.

That's funny you mentioned the tent revival thing. About a year ago I was awoken one day to thundering rock n' roll music wafting across the woods that border my backyard. I'm like, "The hell...?" The thump-thump-thump of a irritatingly loud bass was shaking my wall. So I step out on my back deck, and sure as crap the psychos are having a tent revival. At 8:00 am in the morning. With Christian rock.

So I drive my car over to their location, pull up in front of their revival, roll down my windows, and played Metallica as loud as my car's speakers could handle. After a few minutes, their pastor and some members came over and asked me what my problem was. I explained to them that I live 500 meters thataway, and their revival woke me up. I made a deal with them to turn my music off if they would turn their music down.

Funny people, these Christians sometimes.

A Dominionist Church is hardly mainstream. The interesting thing is that this Church, if taken to it's extreme, would have no place for Mormonism in it's Christian world future.

For the record, Palin went to a tongue-speaking Pentacostal Church because that is where she was raised. The fact is, she has since left that Church, and in a recent interview with her former pastor, he said he never once saw her speak in tongues.

There are some threads in the off-topic forum covering her religious beliefs.

Besides, there was no actually film footage of the candidate eating the rat (as far as we know).

So a go-getting achiever would actually withhold her participation from a common activity of her Church, eh?

What about those song lines:

Do every thing, spin, spin, spin
there is a season, spin, spin, spin...

in my opinion, most mainstream christian church's would have no place for Mormonism if taken anywhere close to their extremes.

What is it with you and your stupid rhetorical questions?

Do you ever have a point? Just say it. The fact is Palin cannot be tied down to whatever it is her former Church taught, so digging in that corner of the yard will prove fruitless for all the Palin haters.

Unlike Obama, who has been a member of the whacko Black Liberation Movement - which teaches the Black race is chosen by God - for twenty years now, and then disingenuously say he's never sat down before one of those circus acts of a sermon performed by that idiot Jeremiah Wright.

Elsewhere you insinuated Palin is just lying, because you didn't like her answers. It seems you guys have rigged teh game from teh start. It doesn't matter what she says. You have your preconceptions of what she is, and if her answers don't conform to what you want her to be, then you just say she's lying. I mean its either that or the liberal blogs don't know what the hell they're talking about, right?

4,000 year old dinosaurs, reduced funding for special needs children, tried to enforce creationism in schools, said God was on our side in Iraq, etc. How many falsehoods do you guys need to see shot down before you realize there is a very malicious agenda going on here by the left?

I just read an article on the very liberal Ariana Huffington's website, written by a regular contributor who said:

...she really is as ignorant as I feared. And, three, she really is kinda hot. Basically, I want to have sex with her on my Barack Obama sheets while my wife reads aloud from the Constitution. (My wife is cool with this if I promise to "first wipe off Palin's tranny makeup." I married well.)

This is sick, and it is no surprise this is the class of humans who are on your side. This, along with all the rap artists at MTV dissing her along with show hosts calling her a "bitch" and her daughter a "slut". The fact is, the most uneducated classes vote Obama, and the higher educated are more likely to vote McCain/Palin.

Apparently, she is supposed to be considered "ignorant" because she didn't know what Gibson meant by the Bush Doctrine. Funny, because neither did Obama last year. Talk about ignorance.

Uh, neither did Mr. Gibson.
