But the quote in the OP on this thread is the perfect point of being neither careful or thorough. He uses a obscure reference from the 60's saying there were Florida horse remains dated to 100 b.c.. What he conveniently fails to mention is that the find has been discredited as a botched result, the dating could not be replicated. Paul Martin, the original author, now refers back to this earlier work and holds it up as a example of bad dating in the early years of 14C testing.
