Re: LDS Prop 8 Strategy Document
My take on this document is that the muckety mucks in SLC are dealing with a church membership that just isn't all that fired up about this - at least they're not fired up enough to do all the legwork the church is asking for. And the LDS membership outside of California can't be counted on to do anything at all. ROFL.
Same Ten People. ROFL. Yup, so even within the ranks of the church, only a certain hardcore subset of people are willing to yell "How high?" when the apostles say jump.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

Not surprised. Apathy, not polygamy or the Book of Abraham is the biggest stumbling block of Mormonism. Even Brigham new it was comming.

When the Apostles say, "Jump," I say, "Where's the cliff?"

Whoa, the Church better hide this from whoever evaluates tax exempt organization violations.
Why? I think you'd better check the law on this.

But do you also ask about how high that cliff is?
I ask, "Where's the lake?"

I found it interesting the admission that non-LDS weren't doing much. I knew LDS were very much involved, but I thought the coalition had more non-LDS.
Maybe non-LDS aren't as worried about it.

Maybe they should send the Mishys out to explain why thier lives are in such danger..
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

Actually, I think they already do that.

This is the best comment I've seen on this topic. Nice.

Hey The Nehor,
Did you ever come up with the scripture where 'God' condemns lesbian activity as an abomination? Did I miss it?
