Church postpones court for Flatlander ....

Post by _Rollo Tomasi »

Flatlander is the owner of signingforsomething.com

He reports receiving this email from his SP about the upcoming court:

Dear [Flatlander],

We have decided to defer your disciplinary council to a later date given
this politically charged election season. We feel that a more measured and
considered discussion can be held at a date sometime in November.
Meanwhile, we invite you to meet with the stake presidency tomorrow night at
the same appointed time to discuss you situation.

It is almost a 200-mile trip for me to drive to the stake center so I would
appreciate a confirmation that you will attend the meeting.

Regards,
President [Bonehead]

Looks like the local leaders 'blinked.' I'm sure they'll still nail him after the election, when the risk of bad press is less.
"Moving beyond apologist persuasion, LDS polemicists furiously (and often fraudulently) attack any non-traditional view of Mormonism. They don't mince words -- they mince the truth."

You know, this is absolutely amazing. People think I'm joking when I say that after conservative Christian America accepts gays, the church will. This is all the proof you need.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Oh I don't know. They didn't nail Tom Murphy, after his situation hit the press.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Unless Flatlander wants a circus for his court hearing I think this is a good thing for both sides.

I don't think he cares.. its the Church that craves the cover of darkness..
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

The days will be shorter then but I'm not sure what that has to do with it. :)

Maybe their crusade to save marriage for the heteros isn't going over so well with the public?

Court hearing? Wow.

Rollo, thanks for your update. I read with serious interest you previous thread that revealed, and raised many facets & questions. So, this "potponement" is no surprise to me. The knee-jerk reaction had to be seen as a very unsavvy reaction by LDSism...

As for "Flatlander": he could be a Michael Moore in the making ;-) He is most certainly an exceptional individual, and IMSCO to be complimented and encouraged. He is obviously a DOER. Ain't a'nuff of them!

I will confirm the current difficulty one has in connecting with LDS hiearchy. Not always so. In the past I communicated with Marrion D. Hanks, TS Monson & others personally. No problem what-so-ever. Today, the highest I can get is the Regional Rep. So he succeeded where I failed. :-(

Of more import his site gave access to LDSHomosexual web site that was more interesting as personal stories of LDS Gays & Lesbians were told. One in particular, Carolyn Ball (?) was most touching & compelling. The perfect, exemplary LDS young woman. RM, BYU grad. Taught at the MTR. Temple married... She loved her Church... (As do I)... BUT...

It is inevitable that LDSism will eventually change its homosexual attitude. Simply because, it is the correct thing to do. As is said, "Time is of the (only) essence."

Let's hope it is a slow newsday when this local group decides to take up this punishment attempt again.

Right on, Rodger! Doing the correct thing should always win out in the end. God's love Trump's all.
