I would agree that they were even.

What I liked about McCain is that he really understands the battlefield, and war strategy. That was very obvious by the detail he went into during his answers regarding terrains, etc.

However, I was impressed with Obama's overall foreign policy knowledge, and I like his stance on the economy. Obama does not have the detailed knowledge that McCain has, but if he surrounded himself with the right people, he would be OK. I appreciated his overall vision.

Sorry, Jersey Girl. Can't help it. I've been into politics since I was a kid. ;)

I'm predicting that Biden will had Palin her generous posterior on a plate and that the McCain/Palin campaign along with every single conservative commentator in the land will try and play it off as Biden being "sexist".

You may be right, but I have a feeling that people's expectations of Palin are so low, she'll actually exceed those expectations. Whether or not that translates into a "win" is questionable. I have little doubt that Biden will out talk her, but the standard she's set is so low, any competency she demonstrates should help McCain.

It will certainly be more fun to watch if she f***s up royally, though.

The Palin-Biden debate will not be too devastating to McCain because 1) if she manages to stick to one point it will be viewed as a success of some kind or other by almost everyone, 2) almost all of us at least feel sorry for her, even if she is the reason we will not vote for McCain, 3) Biden would damage Obama, if he were to get aggressive with Palin (sympathy backlash).

My take is that those who support Palin are doing so for largely irrational reasons (the same might be said of Obamaniacs). What is scary is that presidential politics has sunk so low. Evidently we have no concept of what it is to be tried, experienced, and prepared for the most important job in the modern world. I can't say I am overly surprised, since at one time I actually made the mistake of voting for 'W'.

If we hadn't lost our collective minds, we might have seen a face-off between McCain or Mitt and Hillary. I don't know what happened to McCain, but there must have been some bad juju going on. Evidently it is the case that we don't give a rats ass whether we throw the management of our empire over to a collection of newbies. I am sick over the whole thing.
