LDS.org posts Book of Mormon children's stories that agree with Meldrum

WOW.

Check out the latest multimedia offering on the Lord's home page:

Online Scripture Stories

Curious how these stories aligned with the mo'pologetic front, I went straight to the Book of Mormon stories page.

The first section "How We Got the Book of Mormon" could have been written by Brother Meldrum himself, at least the last part:

The book is called the Book of Mormon.
It tells about people who lived in America many years ago.
It also tells about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

So there you have it. LDS Inc starts teaching the same Book of Mormon geographic theories as Brother Meldrum in early formative years of a child's life. Is it any wonder why the adult members accept Meldrum's ideas over the plausible BS from Fair/Farms/MI?

Somehow I doubt this cartoon for kids was meant to present precise geographical arguments.
One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

-Omar Khayaam

How We Got the Book of Mormon wrote:The book is called the Book of Mormon. It tells about people who lived in America many years ago. It also tells about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Sorted by magnitude.
- Whenever a poet or preacher, chief or wizard spouts gibberish, the human race spends centuries deciphering the message. - Umberto Eco
- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

Great catch and excellent point.

America can mean South America, Central Americe, North America or all of it.

Course his book was written 30 years ago and there is no doubt that for many years most LDS leaders took a hemispheric approach to Book of Mormon geography and the LGT is more recently in vogue.
