The "stunt" was making it a point that his campaign was creating a truth squad stocked with Prosecutors and Sherriffs who would "respond" to anyone "caught violating Missouri's ethic laws". People like me are simple responding to that stunt in an appropriate manner... With disgust.

If they didn't want to alarm people then they wouldn't have made that point. This was a stunt that backfired... In a big way.

They even said how they would respond.....by presenting correct information. How horribly sinister.

Well, they said that after the news broke. This is how everything went down:

- Obama Truth Squad formed in Missouri, advertised by Missouri Democrat Party as being stocked with Prosecutors and Sherrifs who "target anyone spreading false information" about Senator Obama

- 9/23 KMOV does story on truth squad and scares the crap out of people by reiterating point put out by Democrat party

- 9/24 Small fish blogger from Missouri covers the KMOV story and says:

KMOV Channel 4’s TV newscast night before last at 6 PM had a story, that stated that St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, both Obama supporters, are implying that they will bring criminal libel charges against anyone who levels what turns out to be false criticisms of their chosen candidate for President.

- 9/25 A day later a well-known Conservative blogger posts video on his website.

- 9/26 Story goes viral getting coverage by Limbaugh, Drudge, and then subsequently thousands of bloggers.

- 9/27 Missouri Governor issues his statement telling Senator Obama to knock off the grandstanding and intimidation.

- 9/28 Missouri truth squad responds with a kinder, gentler vision of "targetting" people by "responding with facts".

- 9/29 The most important development in the story arc occurs when antishock8 and The Nehor have modest exchange about it on Mormon Discussions. Antishock8 is still waiting for Thunder Ass McThunderthighs to stumble her way into conversation and blurt out some nonsensical tripe between donette binges.

- 9/30 Issue forgotten.

An interesting analysis of McCain and Obama

These striking differences were not simply debate tactics; they highlighted differences between the two men that are in their DNA. One is the product of the brawling traditions of the United States Navy, and survival under unimaginable conditions in a Hanoi prison. John McCain has prevailed in life not by seeking common ground (ironically, the most notable exception was his historic voyages of forgiveness to Vietnam). What has kept him energized (and alive) is his enormously combative style, which he proudly calls "maverick," and his quick, sometimes pre-emptive attacks on opponents. It is not a criticism to say that he is a gambler; he said so himself in his memoirs and in the debate.

Although Barack Obama articulates his positions in a calm, methodical, and understated way, he is clearly just as tough as McCain, or he would never have come this far in life, against unbelievable odds. But he thinks about how to solve problems in a manner much more conducive to successful governance than McCain. While he made clear he is ready to use military force if necessary, his life and career embodies the search for common ground between peoples of different backgrounds, different races, different points of view. During the debate he often emphasized the non-military aspects of American power--including diplomacy backed by American muscle, the restoration of respect for the nation, and the direct link between America's economic strength and its national security.

Astonishingly, McCain had virtually nothing to say on any of these issues--yet these are the tools that must be precisely balanced and deployed with skill if the nation is to regain its leadership position in the world.

This difference was reinforced by the much-noted failure of McCain to look in Obama's direction or address him directly during the debate, and by the grim looks that left many viewers with the impression McCain was just plain angry.

John McCain's campaign has a truth squad which includes prosecutors who support his candidacy, according to reports and a campaign source.

Last Tuesday without any fanfare, the Barack Obama campaign announced Jennifer Joyce and Bob McCulloch, the top prosecutors in St. Louis city and St. Louis County, were joining something called an Obama truth squad.

They plan to respond immediately to any misleading advertisements and statements that might violate Missouri ethics laws

So what will they do, chuck Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reily in jail? Where would they be if they couldn't lie?

Pretty ironic statement since Obama lied about a connection between McCain and Limbaugh in one of his recent Spanish commercials.

There are two American election campaigns currently running. The first, in the mainstream media, accepts Barack Obama at face value, no questions asked, while it viciously turns over Sarah Palin and her family whom it subjects to lies, smears and character assassination. The second, being conducted in the blogosphere and (with one or two notable exceptions such as the Wall Street Journal) not alluded to at all by the mainstream media, is the site of verbal warfare between Camp Obama and bloggers who are practising journalism as it used to be practised – going behind the propaganda to dig out information and asking questions about it. The blogosphere is not only rebutting the Palin lies but also piling up the most disturbing revelations about Obama’s background and associations -- compounded by the troubling manner in which Camp Obama responds to these discoveries.

What about fluoride? Does he want to put fluoride in our drinking water too? They will have to pry our cold dead hands off our tooth brushes first!
