I'm in favor of Brigham Young's counsel. A prayer to open a meeting should be less then a minute. One to close a meeting should last less then 30 seconds. My sister and I at General Conference always watch the clock to see which GA's are following President Young's counsel. :)

The reason these moronic prayers are uttered so proudly by the mindless Mormon fools at public events is because Mormon have been told, and believe that they are, god's chosen people and therefore NEED to pray at such events for the sake of the other gentiles.
