I'm suggesting that the polygamy and priesthood ban "revelations" may not have been "revelations" in the traditional sense (i.e., those in the D&C). If there truly were traditional "revelations" to the Brethren (i.e., the Lord speaking to the Prophet, the format used in most of the D&C revelations) on these two MONUMENTAL decisions, I would expect them to be written and published.

No he's not. He's simply speaking out on a political and civil right issue. And that he said he was a HP is just a fact -- it doesn't add to his credibility. I mean, he reveals he's a HP, and at the same time reveals he's been called in to a court and probably will be excommunicated. That pretty much would shoot down his credibility among TBM's.

Speaking out on civil rights issues will indeed shoot down his credibility with many TBMs. However, the real offenses were both writing to LDS officials and taking a political stance opposite their own. He will suffer their wrath soon for his insubordination.

Nehor, would you feel better about Calahan the "flatlander" if he was one of the "pretty" people like you? Instead of him being a long haired bandana wearing HP, what if he was a virginal, pimply, pubescent preisthood holder like you, would you be more accepting and tolerant of the views of your fellow Mormon?
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.

That wouldn't make him like me at all. Sorry.

No, I don't think that if he cut his hair and beard and still sent off letters about plans to bring the First Presidency in order to drum up publicity so he can try to change the declarations of those who hold Priesthood keys he does not that I would be more tolerant of his views.

By the way, thanks for telling me I'm 'pretty'. My ego can always use a boost as long as you're not hitting on me like Scratch and Merc do. ;)

As far as I know, this church (?) is an international one, with more than 50% membership out of US.

What are (we) You talking about?

PROP 8?
PROP 2473?
Constitution of US?

What does US means for non-US-denizens?
Is it a source of world crisis? Or is it a leading power of the world?
Or what is it? Or who cares?

Please don't misunderstand me. I don't want to be rude.
Mormonism is (should be - seems to be - want to be) something worldwide. It isn't.

maybe someone can correct me, but I don't recall any LDS opposition to civil unions in NZ.
