Only because the topic deserves better. We all do.

Think of them as the open spaces of cyberspace.

I have something much better in mind if I am trying to kill off brain cells. I better post the OP again, just in case ;)

My Shady acres friends:

I can think of no better place than this message board to first post a link to my website. My close friend and partner have been working furiously trying to get the website up in time for both the ex-Mormon conference and the 17th annual Scarecrow festival. I thought about posting some of my personal experiences, and I still might, but for now I'll just let the website speak for itself and engage in dialogue here. My stories, which Trump anything posted to the website by far, will be in the movie and book. I will say a few things about the "Mormon Gulag" - and then answer any questions or elaborate on anything anyone is curious about:

I have never gotten my ass beat as bad as I did while I was there. I've taken a beating or two in my day, but I was punched in the face, tackled, kicked, slammed on the ground and into walls, and more. That being said, I didn't get it nearly as bad as some other kids there. I was well liked there, and still got the s*** kicked out of me on a regular basis.

I do not exaggerate the LDS connection with this place in the least bit. In fact, it probably goes a lot deeper than I even realize.

To be fair, I don't think that any good hearted member of the LDS church would endorse this vile facility if they knew what was actually going on.

Saturday, October 18th I will be in Lehi, Utah at the Scarecrow Festival filming a protest that has been planned. I really encourage you to go and check it out and talk to some of the boys that experienced what I did.

Now, I have been known to be a "cocky punk" on this board, a "stupid kid" that has an axe to grind with Mormonism. While all of that may be true, I am absolutely serious about this place. It is awful, disgusting, and simply un-American. It is abusive, shady, and makes the Mormon church look plain evil. I hate this place because of what it does and what it stands for, not because it is associated with the LDSism.

Later on this week I'll post a few stories from my book about that place here, so stay tuned.

I'd really appreciate any help I can get with this project.

Best,

Eric

Goodk, the kid that committed suicide, Brian Poulson, is from a ward where I happen to know a number of people. I am curious to talk to them and see what their take is on the ranch.

Isn't Buttars on the verge of being thrown out by the voters?

That would be interesting to read about. Maybe you would be able to interview a few of them for GoodK's website?

In any case, I would be very interested in reading their take on the whole situation.

I enjoyed chatting with Eric last night. He is a very genuine, charming young man who has been through a lot in his life.

I think he is on the right track with his book and film endeavors, and I support his efforts in getting this place shut down. Harmony and I gave him a few ideas as far as channels to go through. I'm sure that DCS, in particular, would be very interested in hearing about this place, and the goings on. My suggestion is that a formal complaint be filed.

I'm pretty sure I'm on this jokers foe list by now, but I would consider it a personal favor if a Mod moved his stupid comments to the Off Topic or Telestial, since they are either off topic or a personal attack. And just not healthy.

Read your PM's. I have some thoughts on that issue, and we can proceed from there. :)

..two sets of full-time missionaries are called to serve there. This is a simple fact. Not in the same city. There. As in they have offices, and such.

WTF??
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

Two sets of full-time missionaries are staff there. They have their own offices but they don't live there. They live somewhere off campus. To their credit they were always really nice to us.
