OK...I literally laughed out loud when I read this! I love you, Nehor!

Thanks for the chuckle! :)

I shall also commit to following Elder Hale's advice, and follow LoaP. SOmetimes it is extremely difficult when others here decide they can forego decent conversation and snark and ridicule and simply mock anything they wish. We're all human, but I shall put on my best efforts at civil discourse. Why not? It might make for some fun.....woo hoo! Besides. I wanna hug from Liz too - LOL!

Oh, Liz gives out hugs like candy.

Perhaps we should go over the various examples of Christ responding (or not) to antagonists. He certainly didn't get contentious with anyone, but he certainly put some of them in their place. While I'm quite familiar with the aspect being spoken of in the talk, whenever someone uses the term "Christlike" there is usually more than one aspect to take into account.

D&C 71:7

Hey, guess what...you're not Christ!!

True. But isn't Christ our Exemplar?

He gets to do things that you don't.

Nothing that is germaine to this discussion. Ever read 1 Corinthians 6:2? Or Revelation 3:21?

BCSpace, it seems Elder Hales' talk went right over your head, brother.

Seems more like you are clinging to a talk which is about only one aspect of Christlike behavior to the exclusion of all others. Smacks of gospel hobbyism.

Actually it doesn't.

Just wait until those turnips start whispering to you when no one else is around: "Get married, Nehor, Get married!" et al and then what will you do? to whom will you turn?

I don't agree with PP's harping on Nehor to get married, and it pains me to some degree to see it being taken up by others. I'm sure nobody feels bad, or guilty, or whatever, about his batchelorhood more than Nehor himself, and he doesn't need anyone constantly reminding him about it. It's like pouring salt onto a wound and then grinding it in.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

If you exclude all other doctrinal statements and scriptures in favor of your position (like all LDS democrats do), you've got a gospel hobby.

I'm not an LDS Democrat. During this election I am supporting a democratic candidate. You are welcome to cast judgment as you will. But as you mete, so shall it be meted. Just keep it in mind.
