Actually, it's not, Jason, since you never supply any concrete evidence. You merely show up, bleating like a goat,

Sorry dude but I proffered an opinion and that is all you did in this case as well.

complaining about posts no one is forcing you to read.

I am not complaining at all. I am just showing the world that not everyone here thinks you are hunky doory in your methods and all.

Why not join the discussion, man?

I am doing that to the extent I so desire.

Why not post some quotations from FARMS articles which show that it "meets the goal it states here"?

Why? Did you post items that show it does not?

I feel I've done a rather thorough job of reviewing the various articles that don't meet this goal. You can look back over several of my threads to see where I've done this. It's only fair to ask that you do the same.

I will think about it. In Fact one come to mind quickly and that is the review that was solely devoted of the Book by Mosser and Owen-don't recall its name at the moment.

LOL!! Yep, that's what I thought. It's a pity that you threw in the towel so quickly.

Edited to add: by the way, Dan, I may be in Utah soon. Would you care to meet for lunch? You can bring along LoaP, if you'd like. Heck, you can even bring your assault rifle, if that would suit you.

Dan should take you up on this really. At least than he could see his accuser face to face.

It's amazing how little interest I have in meeting Scartch.

I've met Shades. I've met cinepro and Sethbag, and enjoyed it. I've corresponded back and forth with several others here, and would enjoy meeting them. I've shared tables with professional anti-Mormons like Richard Abanes and Dennis Wright and others, and we've become friends of a sort. But Scartch? I think his treatment of me has been despicable, and that it's been despicable for a very long time. I can't imagine enjoying the lunch at all. Besides, I've genuinely come to suspect that he's insane.

Perhaps you are correct. The only advantage is he would then lack anonymity but if indeed Scratch is a loon maybe it is better for you if he remains anonymous.

Yet my invitation to Scratch for lunch remains.
One moment in annihilation's waste,
one moment, of the well of life to taste-
The stars are setting and the caravan
starts for the dawn of nothing; Oh, make haste!

I've extended the olive branch to you on a number of occasions, Prof. P. You have spat in my face every time.

You're nuts, Scartch.

You may believe this -- though I have my doubts about that -- but no sane observer will.

I look forward to our lunch. I intend to bring a friend or two. And my camera. This will be great! (I may also come armed. Frankly, I don't trust you.)

Can you provide one instance where you "extended an olive branch" to DCP? Why would you expect him to accept such a branch in the first place, given your reluctance to do so for other people (specifically, myself.)

Not terribly long ago, I recall pointing out to LifeOnaPlate that it seemed very unusual that FARMS Review's submission guidelines were not out in the open. On the old MI website, readers were told something to the effect, that, "Reviews are written by invitation. Any person interested in writing a review should first contact the editor. Style guidelines will be sent to the reviewers."

I remember you running away from my challenge when I asserted that this was not unusual. I asked you to provide me the name of any large private university with a theological department and we will look at journal submission guidelines at that university.

Can you provide one instance where you "extended an olive branch" to DCP?

Here are two from May 4 of this year:

1) I have offered, on at least a couple of occasions, a kind of "let's shake hands and let bygones be bygones" to DCP. Each time, he has essentially spat in my face. He would rather continue fighting then ever admit to any wrongdoing. But, I'll say it again: If he wants to fess up and admit to the rotten things he's done, I will permanently retire from the MB and completely delete the blog.

I'd like to offer you the opportunity to accept a truce once again, Prof. P. The choice is yours. Of course, this will mean that you'll have to make some unpleasant concessions, but would it be worth it? Just think: I would go away---permanently!! C'mon, there is no one alive whom you hate more than me. Would a minor apology be worth it, if it puts an end to my posting?

Yes, they were conditional, but nevertheless, I did offer to completely cease posting. (And DCP, it should be pointing out, is saying that he would only do lunch if: A) he can bring a "gang" of people along; B) he can take photos and post them; C) he can bring along firearms.)

Here's another post of mine, from July 29th, which went completely ignored by DCP:

I didn't mean it as an attack, or as a "set-up" for an attack. No need to get touchy. It was just a simple question. You know: I might add that I have on a number of occasions offered a kind of "cyber-handshake" in your direction, offering to kiss and make up, as it were. You have blown me off each time.

Here is another instance where I tried to "let bygones be bygones," and as I think you'll see, DCP wasn't very "nice":

DCP wrote:
Mister Scratch wrote:if you ever make up your mind to try and start over, I'm willing to extend my hand in a cyber-handshake to you.

There's nothing to "start over."

You can look over posts of Moksha's as well, in which he suggests that there ought to be some kind of "peace talks," or something of that nature. I frequently agreed, whereas DCP generally said "piss off!" or something to that effect.

All of this really dates back to my very first email exchange with him, in which he demanded that I publicly apologize for comments I never made. He insisted, in fact, that I become a kind of "DCP mouthpiece" here on MDB. He continues to say that he "believes" that I'm guilty, and that this mere "belief" is enough to justify his false accusations. Well, so be it, I guess.
