It looks like the Yes campaign has had an effect:
A poll conducted by SurveyUSA on behalf of a California television station (CBS 5) shows that 47 percent of voters planned to vote for Proposition 8 on the California ballot, compared to 42 percent, who oppose it.
In comparison, a SurveyUSA poll released Sept. 25 found 44 percent planned to vote for Proposition 8 while 49 percent planned to vote against it.
Support for the same-sex marriage ban has grown since the start of a television ad campaign showing San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, saying that homosexual marriage was here “whether you like it or not.”
Ironically, the poll found support for Proposition 8 has grown among young voters, which are considered the most unpredictable voters and the hardest to poll.
The SurveyUSA poll was conducted among 670 likely voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percent.
