You didn't do any of those things. However, you *did* spread gossip about Mike Quinn and R. Ritner, you *have* helmed a very vicious and tendentious journal, you *did* engage in some rather appalling antics on l-skinny, and so on and so forth.

When are you going to own up, Prof. P.?

Good for you Jersey Girl. Everybody loved the cuteness and sleuthing skills of Huckleberry Hound. He could get the scent and track. by the way, did you know that Huckleberry Hound made two cameo appearances on Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.

ROFL! Actually, I really liked Harvey Birdman. I think my favorite episode was the one where Fred Flintsone was a Tony Soprano-esque Mafia don.

I understand that you sincerely feel that DCP did a great injustice to Quinn.

Is your dogmatic need to avenge Quinn affected by the fact that he is a personal friend of yours?

If so, it would certainly add light on this whole situation.

You, of course, don't have to answer. I'm just genuinely curious.

I'd prefer not to say, Liz. For reasons which are probably pretty obvious.

I actually think your reasons are pretty obvious however, I doubt you're going about it wisely.

Let's say, only for the sake of argument, that you are someone close to Quinn or that you are Quinn.

Scenario:

You've anonymously posted various allegations regarding what you feel are DCP's complict involvements in the Quinn "affair". You've done so for two years to no avail. No admissions, no apologies have been forthcoming.

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that one day you finally wear down DCP and for whatever reasons (either it's true or he simply grows tired of the "affair") he throws up his hands and states on this board "You're right. I am guilty of wrong doing regarding (insert offense) and I apologize"

Apologize to whom? To you?

If you aren't Quinn, what sense does it make for DCP to apologize to you and not Quinn?

If you are Quinn, what sense does it make for DCP to apologize to you when after doing so, countless posters from this board will testify to the (seeming) fact that you exacted an apology from DCP by essentially stalking him on a message board for 2 years.

How does that cast Quinn or someone close to Quinn look in a favorable light?

Here you've got (hypothetically) a highly educated/published historian now residing in LA (so far as I know) affiliated with the Univ. there, who has chosen not to correspond directly and privately with DCP to discuss what he believed were wrongs against him, but chose instead to carry out his purpose on some podunk (no offense Shades) message board.

Whether you are someone close to Quinn or you are Quinn, there is nothing remotely respectable to be had in that.

Well, that's one scenario I can think of .

The following is a standard response: Master Scartch has devoted himself since at least 2006 to publicly defaming me while maintaining his anonymity. I flatly deny virtually every allegation Master Scartch has ever made against me, and this one is no exception. I regard Master Scartch as an obsessive and malevolent loon, and have decided to refrain from further gratifying his weird fixation on me and those connected with me. Attempting conversation with him over the past many months has accomplished precisely nothing, and is, plainly, a complete waste of my time, especially given the fact that it's his self-described "mission" and "amusement" to be "perceived" by "Mopologists" as "full of hate." Huckleberry Hound! Omigosh! I haven't thought of that in years! You're saying I'm a dog, right?

That's rich coming from a leaf-clad penguin such as yourself!

I also have a series of PMs from her in which she does this exact same song-and-dance: "Go off and do a bunch of searches!" Why not just answer the question? Other oddities include her deletion of the "public" apology to Kerry Shirts, and so forth.

I suppose they are a nice reprieve from your usual regimen of drive-by, substance-free posts about French manicures, how tough you think you are, or whatever else.

If you'd pay more attention to your manicure, folks might get the impression that you're a bit more well rounded and less hyperfocused than you appear to be.

Hint: The SV top coat I suggested is worth every penny you'd spend on it.
