Will post this and then head back to Iowa. Finished helping my old roomie get the corn into the crib so he will have plenty of winter heat and we got the barn roof sealed so rain and snow and wind won't work on it too much this winter and he can get on with restoration next spring when it warms up again.
He reminded me of the incident years ago when he found out his Stake Prez was telling people about confessions made to him. Seems one of the guys on the State road crew worked with the Stake Prez and as they would drive along this Southern Utah area the SP would point to someone and tell all about what sins had been confessed to him. He didn't believe it really happened so he bet the friend it was not true and they came up with a plan to check it out.
He got an appointment and then 'confessed' to the SP of buggering a cow during milking time. Only told the SP, not the bud so there was no chance of it getting out anywhere else.
Sure enough the next week as they drove by his farm and he was outside fixing a combine the Stake Prez proceeded to entertain the five others in the van with his story of porking the milk cow.
They got together later and my friend was crushed to find out this 'great leader' was doing this. The real trouble was yet to come though. The story got repeated and he was almost denied a missionary call. He did smarten up though and as we talked this past week he was able to laugh about it. He still has never gone back to the small SoUtah area or to any HS reunions or anything to do with the area in over 40 years. Some things never die and that Stake Prez repeating the story made up to 'set him up' really screwed him in his home town.
Somehow being a true believer it hit him hard. He just didn't realize there are a lot of things you gloss over and never say because someone, somewhere in the Organization write this crap down to use it against you in the future. Repentance is a nice idea buy blackmail and coercion work so much better when those in leadership have 'the facts' to use against you. God may forgive you but your local leaders will find a way to get you for what you admit, true or not.
Anyhow, will be back in a month or three when I come up to visit and help him with some mid winter cattle work. Meanwhile, back to Iowa where it is easily mistaken for Heaven.

LOL. Yeah, a million and one living situations in which to throw out that phrase, as a verb. ;)

I work with 2 bishops.
One of them is the salt of the Earth, kindest man you could ever wish to meet.
The other is constantly complaining about the people that come in for food assistance and such. He never mentions names, but it is pretty apparent that he has quite a bit of disdain for many people in his ward.

With things the way are now, both will likely see an increase in the numbers of people needing assistance from the bishop's storehouse and rent, etc.
