Yeah, that'd fly. Parks and concerts are a great place to find drugs, no? Ever hear of Pioneer Park in SLC?

The church does give stuff back to its members. We have ward activities, scouting, young mens, young womens and various other activities cover in part by the budget from Salt Lake. Does it give back all 10%? No, of course not, but it does add something to the partnership.

Where did I say any of this? All I said was can you document your ramblings? I am all for full financial disclosure. I do not however believe that some few are enriching themselves off LDS money. If you can show me otherwise I would be happy to entertain the idea.

I am friends with one of the projects Managers. At a recent banquet dinner to mark a ten year anniversary I chatted with him. It was scary to see his rationale. Yes its overbudget several times. Yes its a giant money hole. The scary thing about the rationale was that "the brethren" know what they are doing as far as he is concerned. If I was involved with building a hotel/condo/shopping center (of which I have been involved in such projects) I would have sold off my interest LOOOONG ago and called it a loss, citing mismanagement.

that's true, yes. But what is better to punctuate the temple? A stream filled park with trees and places to take your family or a DKNY and Fudruckers?

Besides, in my weed buying/selling days I NEVER went to a park. I went to shopping malls to make the deal.

And thereby prove all those paranoid Mormons right.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Scary, yes. Unusual, no. When God's your co-pilot, and your followers believe God's your co-pilot, there's no fear you are leading in the wrong direction. Co-pilot God will never allow you to go astray. Unless, of course, you're just speaking as a man, but no one knows that until decades after you die.

And your friend's kind of blindness will never change. Never. Meanwhile, the homeless are still cold and hungry, the widowed are still unable to pay rent, the sick are still dying for want of treatment.

Yeah, someone tell me again how this church is run by leaders who listen to God.

Your problem here is assuming that the Church cannot help the homeless, cold and hungry while doing this project as well. Of course if they took that money and diverted to this type of activity they would have more $$ towards it. But the church still does a lot of this activity as well.

Today they are..
In ten years when half of them are dead and the mall is a bust - well then they were not..
Don't you know by now how that works?
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.
