If you want to gripe about federal subsidies, maybe you could take on some of the big ones: big business, foreign countries, and farmers. Churches are small potatoes in comparison, I suspect.
Businesses employ people .. foreign governments we manipulate to do what we want.. farmers grow food ..
Churchs ? What ?? Con people into being good ??? We have the Law for that!
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it. Nehor.. Nov 08, 2010

Last I checked Church's employ people as well. The LDS Church employs thousands and thousands. Other do as well.
But your objections really do boil down to the fact that you do not believe in religion and don't like it either. That is clear from your comment above.
But that is the beauty of a free republic. There is lots of things the government does that we can take issue with. Some we like some we don't. And it is fun to gripe about it.

So where's the animosity towards banks? the stock market? finance in general? They've done a remarkably good job of stripping money from dolts.
Where's the animosity towards Big Oil? Talk about stripping money from dolts! They're masters at it!
Where the animosity towards Big Tobacco? Another business giant that's really really good at selling death... and stripping money from dolts. Where's the animosity against them?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
