As I said, I haven't paid much attention to the case.

But if people at BYU thought they were really getting clobbered on it and that it was a deeply worrisome issue, I think it would be at least an occasional topic of conversation among students and faculty. Maybe there's an intense buzz all over campus and I'm just not aware of it.

In any event, I don't imagine that it's positive PR, but I also don't know that it's going to gain much traction or be much remembered. My bet is that it won't have a very great impact, one way or the other.

In fact, almost no one is paying attention to the case...except a places such as this. How do I know? Because I have to come to places like this to find out that things like the Hardy case even exist. Otherwise, virtually nobody would know...or care.

And Prop 8? The majority of Americans, religious or no, are against homosexual marriage as a matter of principle, not just the Church. Liberal extremists who support this kind of social radicalism in the name of their own self absorbed moral posturing are a distinct minority.

Can you produce social surveys that back up this assertion?

apparently you do not read US News & World Report, USA Today, or the hundred or so other sources that printed the AP story or the UPI story. that's cool, but you sort of make an ass of yourself suggesting "no one" is paying attention to it with that kind of national coverage.

During the wildest socialism in Hungary (in the 50s) people - students and teachers - were expelled from universities for sounding improper opinion (read: anti-communist, anti-socialist). You know, universities, the depots of intellectuals are hotbeds of the deadly heresies (copyright BKP).

See Mosiah 3:19 For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever

Do You see some similarity?

- To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin. - Cardinal Bellarmine at the trial of Galilei

The Church continues to get absolutely pummeled out there (go to Google and do a "News" search on "Mormon") and still no response from the Newsroom. Much of what is being said is bigotry in itself (against Mormonism) and erroneous. But silence. I don't get it. The Newsroom has responded to insignifcant criticism in the media and now that there is an avalanche--nothing but silence.

If this whole thing serves any purpose, it should give a clear warning shot across any student's bow that their time and money ought not be given to a cult and its university. They tend to get a little crappy when you change your mind about them.

I just googled "Mormon" and "Hardy" and got a TON of results, including AP, MSNBC, google news. 689,000 results.

It is ALL OVER the web.
