I wonder what the "Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith" manual would look like if the same standard were applied to his teachings (i.e. no "member reported" notes, only correlated general addresses are official)

Kind of difficult to make any accurate judgment when an accurate transcription is not available. You're not making any kind of judgment are you?

My comments are based on the assumption that the BKP message in question is a correct. It seems far too long for someone to have accurately written down from memory; someone here mentioned that it was recorded, then transcribed. I sure hope it shows up on YouTube.

That's where you're running into a problem there Skippy. Either/or. Black/white. False/true. Your assumption may be erroneous. Gosh, if BRM can goof up and get something published in MD, doesn't that tell you that God himself is not micromanaging things? Or at least if he is, he's looking at the macro rather than the micro?

Do you really expect that every word coming out of the mouth of a man of God would literally be God spoken? Wouldn't you think God has better things to do than be involved 24/7 in the neural activity/syntactical relays and production of thought in any one individual?

Come on. Get real.

I suppose you're right. He's only a mouthpiece for God when his words pass through the correlation process. My bad.

It's amazing that someone still remembers her shorthand!
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

It is becoming a lost art/skill. Apparently she didn't get it quite right. May be time for her to brush up a bit.
