Mormons accidentally take their kids to R-rated sex comedy.

Post by _SatanWasSetUp »

This is funny, but if this happened to me with my kids, I would be pissed too. I wonder if they will still have to go through the repentence process, even though it wasn't their fault.

'Musical' switched for 'Sex' in Megaplex mix-up

SOUTH JORDAN — Some Utahns attending the weekend opening of Disney's biggest movie of the year were exposed to a little more than they were expecting.

Friday night, managers at the Megaplex Theatre at the District, 11400 South Bangerter Highway, switched one of the showings of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" to a larger auditorium to accommodate more people. They forgot, however, to switch the movie that had previously been scheduled for the room.

So rather than the family-friendly, G-rated "High School Musical 3," the beginning of the very nonfamily-friendly R-rated "Sex Drive" came on the screen. The opening minutes of the movie include nudity.

"I could not carry my little children out before they were exposed to extremely vulgar and sexually explicit material," one parent complained in an e-mail to the Deseret News.

The film was stopped as soon as the mistake was realized. It was not known Tuesday how long the movie ran until it was turned off.

Megaplex spokesman Jeff Whipple said "Sex Drive" was only on the screen briefly.

Theater managers apologized to the audience and gave everyone free movie passes and concession vouchers. For future movies. Whipple said a policy of secondary confirmation and personal supervision by a theater manager will be required before a movie is shown.

The District Theatre was the 10th busiest in the nation for "High School Musical 3" ticket sales, Whipple said.

How much could they have seen? Surely they would have seen the mistake as soon as the credits rolled right?

Or was Tyler Durden running the projection so that a nice big cock came into view when the snooty cat and the lovable dog with the celebrity voices met for the first time?

Along with movie passes and concession vouchers, they should also give everyone affected a packet of green Jell-O mix. Then all will be forgiven.

I agree that this was not a good situation, but what more could the movie theater do after the fact? It sounds like they handled things appropriately by giving everyone free movie passes. The only other thing they probably should have done was offer to refund money, or given a choice between movie passes and a refund.

Perhaps I shouldn't laugh, but I find this too funny. Not nice for the kiddies, but it would have been a good opportunity for the theatre to test the efficiency of their fire exits.

Yes, because the possibility of a young teenager (how young of people actually go to these HSM films?) accidentally seeing a female nipple is of such greviously dangerous nature, that it merits a veritable riot trying to evacuate everyone, right?

I kind of chuckle at this too. Sure, it's a mistake, but it's not exactly the end of the world.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

A couple of questions:

Why didn't the Holy Ghost prompt the families to leave before the film started?

Is it possible that this experience was a "trial" agreed to by both the parents and the children to endure when they were in the pre-existence?
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Actually, the High School Musical movies are most popular with the "tween" set....ages 9, 10, 11, 12....kind of the "teen wannabees".

If you take that into consideration, it's a little more unsettling. As I stated previously, however, it sounds like the movie theater handled the situation appropriately. I don't know what more they could have been expected to do after the fact.
