Steve and Barbara Young headed to a court of love??

WOW.

First he supports Meldrum, now he and Barb openly oppose the Mormon anti-gay agenda.
What a sweet day for folks like myself! Please let me savor the angst of many Mormons.

I wonder how many TBMs will be dumping their Steve Young memorabilia?

There's no way in Hell the corporation will send those two to a court of love. They're too high-profile. Taking out sanctions against them would be committing political suicide.

Now that is a question whose answer is far less predictable.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Yes. The Corporation of the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ah yes, I thought you were reffering to that.
Just had to be sure.

Thankyou for the clarification. :)

Or, put an even better way:

"Utah's wealthiest sect of Brighamite Mormonism."

:-)

You wish is not going to happen, PP. That would be like excommunicating Henry Reid. Too popular, too high profile, too much the media darlings, too danged rich!

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have a short chat with their SP though. Or a visit from the duly appointed sap recruited by the Committee.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

It looks like it is Barbara who is risking a court of love, not Steve. Here's Barbara's comments from the article.

"To expand on my earlier email, I am very passionate about this issue and Steve is completely supportive of me and my work for equality. We both love our Church and are grateful that our Church encourages us to vote our conscience. Steve prefers not to get involved politically on any issue no matter what the cause and therefore makes no endorsement," she wrote.

So Steve's biggest sin is supporting his wife as she kicks against the pricks. He won't get in any trouble, but I imagine his bishop or SP, or some GA may pull him aside and tell him they are "saddened" by his wife's behavior. Maybe give him a little guilt trip about his wife and hope he passes it on to her.
"We of this Church do not rely on any man-made statement concerning the nature of Deity. Our knowledge comes directly from the personal experience of Joseph Smith." - Gordon B. Hinckley

"It's wrong to criticize leaders of the Mormon Church even if the criticism is true." - Dallin H. Oaks

The Mormons are already throwing rocks at Steve.

Check out the comments on the sfgate.com website:

Steve Young, going against of Prophet of God, that you supposedly believe in, is something that should not be taken lightly. This is a very serious choice you are making. I would not want to be in your shoes when you have to explain your disobedience to God’s laws to Him.

He is not Mormon. Simple as that. I think he forgot an important part of his belief system is that Mormons believe the Prophet receives direct council form the Lord. Woops! Perhaps he should read The Proclamation to the World and re do his recommend interview.

This poster thinks that half of his fans are Mormons:
You have now alienated one half of your fan base.

This one is choice and very typical for narrow minded prophet followers and bishop ass kissers:
Exremely disappointed in Steve Young and his wife. Not suprised though really, not the first time he didn't follow the prophets counsel, remember he didn't serve a mission. A spade is a spade steve glad you arent my Dad or a role model of anyone I care about, I pity your children being raised in a home where not following the prophets counsel is a common theme.

I think I finally look up to Steve Young.
