I disagree. It "victimizes" their memory, and is particularly disrespectful where the ancestors in question were exterminated for their religion. If I felt the memory of my ancestors (which is really the only thing left of the ancestors) was being disrespected, I would be very pissed. Where a group like this objects, the Church ought to have the sense to stop it, and then have faith that the work will be completed during the Millennium.
Wow. The LDS church can just grab power over people by doing this? This guy is a Jew. The LDS church is nothing to him. It's just one more Jesus cult out of the thousands that exist in the world. Why in the world should he even pay attention to the Mormons? What he's doing is giving the Mormons power over him and his parents memory that they (the Mormons) didn't earn, and don't deserve.
I don't see how a bunch of Jews remembering their ancestors who were killed by the Nazis have to even spend one microsecond considering what the Mormons did. It is not a given at all that the memories of these deceased Jews are in any way besmirched by what the Mormons did, except inasmuch as certain Jews today go out of their way to point it out to others, thus bringing it to their attention.
I mean seriously, did the LDS church take out a billboard on Times Square announcing when this guy's parents were necrodunked? He had to go research it himself before he discovered this fact. If, in his mind, the memory of his parents is besmirched, he can blame himself to an extent, because if he hadn't gone out of his way to research this, he would never even have known it! And none of his Jewish friends or relatives would have either.
