Is the proper christian responce to be a doormat?

Turning the other cheek would be to wait until the third paper had been posted on a windshield after a warning had been given. After that the gloves are off.

Being a christian does not mean being a helpless victim. It just means you have a moral code and try to maintain a virtuous enviorment in your life. A morally apathetic sack of feces posting papers on your car advocating sodomy rights infringes upon my sphere of virtue.

Well Jesus did say turn the other cheek, go the extra mile, the meek would inherit the earth and so on. Check out Matthew 5. I think you may be missing what Jesus said about being a Christian.

The Catholic church has really screwed up people views regarding God. Lets not forget that it was Christ who was the God of the Old Testament. One of his names was God of Battles.

I've forgotten. What scripture is it that says Christ is the God of the Old Testament?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I have heard some Utah members cautiously murmuring that they wish the Church would stay out of politics, but they are afraid of the repercussion of saying this publicly.

If you look a little more closely, there is graphitti on the wall alongside the signs.

Its the reason they crucified him Harmony. Compare Exodus 3:13-14 and John 8:56-59

There is something to be said for righteous indignation.

Who was it that tried to claim that religion was not potentially dangerous?

Had to be someone with his head firmly planted up his ass.

Apples & oranges my friend. Jesus, the son of God, is a judge(so the story goes). Church members are not judges or deity.

I love it when Mormons use this. Essentially they take this ONE instance and apply it over all the other teachings. The Sermon on the Mount occupiers three chapters in the New Testament.

I'm not saying to focus on it, I'm saying you should recognize it and realize that its there. Charity and Love are the great commandments, but that does not mean we should lay down and accept abuse and depravity.

Captain Moroni was without question a great and righteous man. Take five minutes and re-read Alma chp.46

18 And he said: Surely God shall not suffer that we, who are despised because we take upon us the name of Christ, shall be trodden down and destroyed, until we bring it upon us by our own transgressions.
