I have to tell you, B23---I am unaware of any college professor who travels as much as DCP does. I have asked before on the board if any of our other academic participants can offer up an example of another scholar who travels this much, and nobody has ever done so.

This isn't to say that such academics don't exist. But, these are really high-profile people: Harold Bloom, Stephen Hawking---people like that. The typical academic gets allowances for travel to conferences and things of that nature, but the extent to which DCP (and his kids!) travels is utterly mind-blowing.

He gets the money from embezzling from FARMS, murder contracts on critics, interrogating wavering members in enclosed spaces, and tapping the phones of dissidents.

True. Well he probably flies economy when he foots the bill and saves money that way.

Do you wonder if he goes first class when the Church picks up the check? ;)

Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07

??? I certainly don't think he "embezzles" any money---that would be far too self-defeating. I do, however, think that he has collected/accepted/used money from FARMS to further his own life experiences and ends.

Lol. I don't know. Perhaps he gets an "upgrade" whenever he and Ed Snow are able to squeeze a "Liahona"-level membership out of somebody.

Again, probably what you would do as it's the first thing that springs to your mind.

Come on now, Jersey. He saw you as a potential ally, and tried to piggyback onto your support. In other words, DCP thought that, by allying himself with you, it would give you a significant foothold on the board. But, obviously, that fell through.

How does it feel to have been used by the Chief Apologist? Go ahead and test it, Jersey. Ask him if he admires your intellect, or if he has learned anything from your posts. Ask him if he thinks you are impressive as a debater, or if his thinks you make good points.

A potential ally? A significant foothold... on a message board? Chief apologist? Do you think the status that others give to Daniel impresses me? I'm not LDS, Scratch. Enough said.

Scratch, my days of debating Mormonism and Mormon related issues were well behind me before I ever showed up on this board or even on Z for that matter, though I did learn more about apologist methods of response on Z. Why on earth would I hold an expectation that anyone, much less Daniel, judge my intellect or methods of debate on this board?

Do you think about that in regards to yourself? If so, you'd be seriously wasting your time as would I. This board is a game. Surely you know that just as surely you play it.

(Getting up on my soapbox now..) How many serious debates do you see on this board? How many "discussions" do you see that don't devolve into insult fests and back biting? There are very few posters on this board who are serious about topical discussion and even those rare threads are obliterated to hell and back again. Half the posters on this board aren't capable of intellectual honesty to start with. Do you honestly see a plethora of intellectual debates or discussions on this board?

You've got to be kidding me. How does it feel to attempt to make something serious out of a non-serious board?

Stepping down off my soapbox...and enjoy the rest of your evening.

Everything is a political move to you isn't it? I think that says more about you then anyone else.

Nehor...with all due respect. You fall for the bait hook, line and sinker. It wouldn't matter to me if Daniel were an apologist (much less "chief") or a Wal Mart greeter. He holds no status in my mind. No apologist holds any particular status in my mind with regards to their apologetics or the church.

I'm not LDS. Don't you get that?

Huh? I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about Scratch. Everything to him is a move on a chessboard.
