I don't think that's a fair statement, Scratch. I don't like what he did, but I wouldn't call him "afraid." Everyone who posts here knows that this place is not exactly friendly to the believing, and I don't blame believers for not wanting to come here. Certainly the idea propagated by some that this place is a den of vipers is a ridiculous exaggeration, but nonetheless, it isn't always a civil place.

Well, he is a quick study, that Stevo. He knows how to attack an opponent where he cannot respond and then refuse to engage him where he can. I see a bright future in Mopologetics for this kid.

If I were he, I would stay in the comforting echo chamber of MADB too.

This is such crap. These guys can run around passing judgement on everyone else, call them "vipers" or whatever pseudo-biblical putdown they can invent, and then turn tail and run when they feel like it's "getting too personal". Their passive-aggressive behavior simply isn't tolerated, AND frankly, the onus is on them to be some sort of paragon of civil behavior. It's not on us. We're not claiming to have some magical religion that transforms us. They are. They're the ones that need to turn the other cheek. Not us.

And yet, they completely lack the courage and and determination to be an apologist in the forum that actually can challenge them. They, instead, create a hollow echo chamber that eliminates dissent, ostracizes the marginally inclined believer, and forbids ANYTHING they consider to diminish their fantasy of belief.

Very brave, Rom. Very brave, Mr. Peterson.

Runtu can't at the moment, but I can respond by simply re-registering.

But, isn't that the very definition of fear? Essentially, doesn't Rom's rationale boil down to something along the lines of, "They use naughty words, and they're mean, so I'm not going over there!"? He is clearly afraid of having to confront us on this free speech forum.

Think back for a moment: none of us was afraid of standing up to the TBMs, including some rather reprobate individuals such as Pahoran, juliann, and Scott Lloyd, over on the FAIR/MADboard. I myself was called some rather nasty names, but did I cower behind the unbelievably lame excuse that the comments were "over-the-top"? No. I did not.

Certainly the idea propagated by some that this place is a den of vipers is a ridiculous exaggeration, but nonetheless, it isn't always a civil place.

And neither is MAD! At least here, The Rom-meister would be guaranteed that his theories would be given a full treatment, and that knowledgeable critics would be able to speak their minds. Instead, he opts to hide on MAD, suckling at the pacifier-like effects it provides.

He just messaged me again and asked me to convey that he did not realize Runtu had been banned when he posted his remarks.

Adding: He conveyed the same message on Runtu's blog. I'd rather avoid Runtu's blog as a debating hall, but if he doesn't come here I might try to re-register on MAD tomorrow, under certain conditions, so I can reply to his thread.

Kind of beside the point. I'm sure Rommelator knows and understands the sort of forum that MAD is. He posted the material there (rather than Runtu's blog) for a clear reason: he is a coward.
