We had a family Thanksgiving gathering of about 14 adults. All the adults are active LDS, with 4 I would classify as solidly "TBM". I spent a good 20 minutes trying to maneuver the conversation to the point where I could logically comment about President Hinckley "checking out" in advance of Romney's run, the FLDS fiasco, and the Prop 8 fallout (as well as knowing that his days on Larry King were also coming to an end.)
The joke got a huge response, and no one was offended that I could tell. My wife knew exactly what I was doing, so I think she laughed the hardest. But no one raised so much as an eyebrow at the joke.
It must have been the delivery.
It's all part of the MAD persecution complex.

But then you say:
But other than our super bowl weekend trip, I have remained here on my side of the big ol' river, pondering the trampling of apostates at the last day. It gives me warm fuzzy feelings every time I think about it.
So, you are the one who wants to commit mass murder against critics of your particular religious sect, right?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

What are you talking about? It isn’t about what I myself might do. The scriptures I quoted talk about what Christ himself will do when He returns. Vengeance is His. You’ve been an apostate so long you don’t even remember what the scriptures say anymore. Sad.
I want to express my sincere thanks to the Mormon Discussions message board for helping me to see and understand the true nature of apostasy.

No, you'll just be cheering on the Savior as he tramples the wicked. Lovely.
If nothing else, you are a good reminder of what Mormonism ought not to be.

You better believe I'll be cheering him on. It will be the day of vengeance He has held in his heart for so long. The day of retribution for all his enemies. I rejoice that He will finally unsheath his sword and reap down the earth.
And since just about everything I have said has the backing of scripture, I would say I am a good reminder of what Mormonism really is. Or at least what it really believes. Unless you're suggesting that D&C 133 is going to be removed from teh canon sometime soon.

I'm not aware of any scripture that says Christians ought to feel gleeful about retribution, suffering, etc. I disagree that Mormonism "really" is about celebrating suffering. I think that's an awful thing to say, and inaccurate as well.

... you all are a bunch of freaks.
Wow. Just wow. The fruits of Mormonism coming to bear.

Then you are ignorant of the scriptures that speak of these things. Are you suggesting that D&C133 be removed from the canon, too? What about D&C 29 and 45? Do they bother you, too?
Mamby pamby Mormons. Yuck.
I rejoice in the day of Christ's retribution. I am glad that He has not grown weak-kneed about these things - unlike far too many of those who call themselves Saints.

I'm really glad there are as many Mormons like you as there are. It helps our cause tremendously, as lurkers and those still on the fence, and those who have that feeling something is wrong with the church but can't quite figure it out yet, all see the kind of crap you write and are jolted out of the stupor Mormonism puts one in, and into harsh reality.
There is only about a dime's worth of difference between the likes of you and the kind of savages who attacked Mumbai and randomly shot everyone in their way. All firmly in the belief that God was smiling on them.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
