Hey, I just heard your daughter telling the story on the radio!
Then they played her 911 call where she was whispering. Are they putting the story on TV also? Are you (well, she at least) gonna be a multimedia star?
As for the event, wow; it has me shuddering. We leave our 15-year-old daughter home alone quite often when we go to plays and U of U football games. Scary.
edit: Never mind, "James." I just read your post on the other board that answered the TV question. Too bad I missed the 6:00 broadcast.

Well, KSL finally left. So, take your pick, we'll be on 3 channels at ten. I hope this is the end of it.

Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Hey I saw Runtu.
That's cool.

Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07

I watched the coverage on channel 2 news and thought your daughter was very impressive. She not only handled the intrusion with uncommon wisdom and set a great example for other children who may find themselves in the same situation, but she was very relaxed and well spoken during the TV interview. You must be proud, John, as well as relieved. [Thumbs Up]
Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Re: Crazy Day
Anyone read the comments on the story at ksl.com? It's a bunch of folks arguing about A) Runtu should have had a loaded gun [or 20 scattered through the house] and B) that his daughter should have gotten said gun and blown the guy away rather than hid. Yeah okay....

I can assure you that I’ve hung up my vigilante cape (I accidentally washed it with a red sock).
Runtu wrote:It's just weird how I can be fine one moment, and the next I'm just reliving the horrified feelings. I'm so glad he didn't hurt her.
I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be a father in such a situation. Of all the possible avenues that could have been taken, I think she chose the smartest one (evidenced by her exiting the ordeal safely).
Sometimes we’re lucky and learn our lessons with only having our emotions bruised instead of our bodies.
I just hope that she doesn’t suffer from any lasting phobias/emotional dillies because of this. It would be a horrendous shame if she were to have to be a victim emotionally. I hope she is able to take this in stride and turn it into a positive experience (I hope the same for you as well my brother).
