Not at all. I try to change things for the better all the time. But I'm also a realist.

To accuse men of living "by the lamp of their own conceit" and refuse to confront them with that exact statement is cowardice. It runs rampant here.

You're sounding more like rcrocket all the time.

Many people say things here they are too afraid to say in person.

This is a discussion board, dude. We discuss/debate/argue ideas, observations, thoughts, concerns, complaints, etc., relating to all things LDS.

I would suggest you keep your mouth shut until you find the character to speak your mind in a constructive polite way to those you disagree with.

Just shut up before you embarrass yourself even more. This is a discussion bb. To repeat an old adage: if you can't hack the heat, get out of the kitchen. The beauty of this place is no censorship (well, at least until recently). Complete freedom of speech. If you don't like it, I'm sure the uber-Mod controlled MADB would love to have you.

To complain of problems and refuse to do anything but complain, is just silly.

Let's try this once more: THIS IS A DISCUSSION BOARD!!!!
"Moving beyond apologist persuasion, LDS polemicists furiously (and often fraudulently) attack any non-traditional view of Mormonism. They don't mince words -- they mince the truth."

Who cares? What matters is her eyes.

Yes, the true heroes weren't those who fought in battles, spilled their blood, risked their lives for treasonous acts, wrote the constitution, participated actively in politics, etc. It was those behind-the-scenes whiners.

Never heard the Founding Fathers described that way.

Really? Maybe one or two people, but I think you are generalizing. And posturing. I think this board is a hobby for a lot of people and an outlet for some. There's no need to "back your crap up" here because this isn't a junior high playground. It's a goddamned message board. Who cares?! Lighten up everybody.

I'm afraid it's the reality of MBs, Lamanite. And if you want a sample of MAD Complainings, just follow Smac's media reports. One might ask, why doesn't Smac actually go out and talk to these people before he judges them online? His latest gossip is about Steve Young and his wife's $50k donation to the No on 8 campaign (which he raved on about before) "We all heard about...". Why doesn't Smac develop the balls to actually go and talk to them?

amen! Shoot off your mouth, accuse people of vile deeds, etc. It's all in good fun! Remember though, Mormon Discussions is all about the "truth," as noted on the front page.

I wonder what would happen if he was offered an all-expenses paid trip and guaranteed meeting with Steve if he'd do it.

Is that an offer?

Really, all Smac has to do is get on the phone, or email. Surely the Youngs are not uncontactable?

But the point I'm making is not that he should do it - it's just the nature of message boards.

Are you talking crap? Come on out here to Colorado and we'll straighten this out. I've got a plane ticket and a barbeque waiting for you. We can go bowling.

What's the deal lately with all this "say it to my face" stuff lately. Seriously. I'm back in junior high. I'm not a big fan of criticizing other posters. I try to avoid that. But are you condoning the idea that if someone says something negative about the church or Mormonism in general, they need to "step up"? Weird.

Seems you're missing the point. It's not a dare or a demand.
