Please don't tell me I'm missing the point without telling me how I'm missing the point. If it's not a dare or a demand, what is it?

I'm afraid it's the reality of MBs, Lamanite. And if you want a sample of MAD Complainings, just follow Smac's media reports. One might ask, why doesn't Smac actually go out and talk to these people before he judges them online? His latest gossip is about Steve Young and his wife's $50k donation to the No on 8 campaign (which he raved on about before) "We all heard about...". Why doesn't Smac develop the balls to actually go and talk to them?

That's actually a pretty good one Ray. I always wonder how he comes up with those things so fast. He must have RSS feeds to every paper in the country.

Here's the deal. Harmony made several assertions in her OP. I provided a near "PERFECT" way to confront an Apostle with an identified problem and then offer a solution. Everyone knows it wouldn't be resolved right then and there, but perhaps it would have begun a resolution process. Maybe they would have setup another appointment. Maybe they would correspond through letters and e-mail. Maybe, maybe, maybe we will never know because she balked. That was weak.

I honestly thought she would stand up for her beliefs. Especially since it required nothing of her except to show up.

Hell, even Dr. Shades was down.

As far as this being a discussion board, I get it. But when you say something on a discussion board and someone gives you the chance to confront the issue, and you back away, then it's obvious you're just blowing smoke. The sad part is, the issue or assertions may be substantive, but the individual is shown as less than when sacrifice and action are refused.

So let us debate and speak without censorship; but let us also have courage enough to speak to each other in a way that would reflect our true identities. And let us put forth ideas and opinions that we truly believe in, work towards, and live by. So that if given an opportunity to put up or shut up, we might easily be able to say, "How soon can we get started".

I am only saying this:

"let us debate and speak without censorship; but let us also have courage enough to speak to each other in a way that would reflect our true identities."

And the "calling someone out" took place when the someone made comments about my wife, kids, race, and culture. And from Elementary school to adulthood, if you say something about a Mans family or heritage, there's a good chance your going to the dentist.

Maybe she'll take it up sometime, or when visiting SLC next. To be frank, I'd take the opportunity too, like Shades. But I hate travelling, and the airfare from OZ would be humongous. I haven't been outside the East Coast since 1978. Harmony, from what I understand, travels a lot, and this may be a factor in her decisions as well.

Go Wallabies and the Kangaroos! Although I played Union for several years, I still prefer to watch League. But I'm not a big follower these days. I followed it when King Wally was captain of the Kangaroos.

I agree with this, 100%.

That's probably where you and I differ, but only just a little. I'm more of a Type B wussy. I couldn't win a fight to save my life, so I don't pick them (unless it's with LoAP, cause I know I could take him.) If a person insults me or my family on a message board, I'll probably just ignore them from that point on. I just hope that you're not judging the entire board on the actions of one or two posters. I feel it's important to separate criticisms of Mormonism from criticism of Mormons. Nearly all my friends and my entire family are Mormon and they are the best people I know. Anyway, sorry for my intrusion into this thread. I'll go back to off-topic now.

Sharing a link to a public message board isn't a crime. Doing it twice or three times wouldn't be a crime, either.

GoodK wrote:Here is my usual response, my dear charlatan.

And here's mine:

As always, I wish you all the best.

I don't know why but while playing in a sevens tournament last year this scab kept raking at the ball with his cleats. Raked again. He cut me the next time so I bit his leg, bad. This is the best part, the ref saw me bite him and walked over to the other guy and said "I was going to call you for raking but I think you learned your lesson". haha! Priceless.

I've had some good exchanges on this board and some bad ones. I take 'em as they come.

As for LoAP a.k.a. "Rabbi Shlomo" a.k.a. "Kimbo Slice", I kicked with him a few times. He's pretty scrappy. Maybe we can setup a pay per view or something. All the benefits going to me and "Lamanite Productions inc." Fighters are each guaranteed signed copies (used) of Timaeus. (I will be the Signee.)

Judging from your photos, you're the sort of player that makes us wingers run much faster. If you're not too busy from Christmas Eve on we must do some more chat. I'm in the throes of getting ready for work this afternoon and not in much of a chat mood now. "Looking forward" to the Saturday night drunks.

It almost sounds like the beginnings of a bad joke - what do John Calvin, the Dalai Lama, and Harriet Tubman have in common?
