How was the list phony?

Harmony stated that she had noticed that the posters on her list had not posted in quite a while...and that SOME of those posters had actually PM'd her, and explained that the reason they had been scarce was because of the overall temperament of the board.

I actually think that tempering personal attacks in Terrestrial and Off Topic is a good thing.

As Shades indicated, everyone will have a chance to have their voice heard at the board pow wow.

Frankly, whatever the outcome of the board rule changes, I do think that the addition of Harmony, Marg, and Chris as moderators has been a helpful change.

I'll admit, though. I'm biased. I like the stamp Chris made for me. LOL

That we were bamboozled into making harmony a moderator.

The collective "we" had nothing to do with Shades' decision to make Harmony a Moderator.

Those decisions are Shades' and Shades' alone.

If you would like to be a Moderator, talk with Shades. I'm sure he would seriously consider it. I would love to have you aboard the moderating team, if you are interested, and would certainly put in a good word.

The board has not been hijacked and actually seems to be running quite fine.

I just want to point out one thing to you, GoodK. You seem to think that harmony was "bamboozling" people, that her claim that people were leaving was bogus and that essentially nothing out of the ordinary was taking place.

All this because she wanted to be a moderator.

Sift through the pages of the Terrestrial Forum and you tell me, GoodK. When was the last announcement for a poster "achieving godhood" on this board?

That alone, should tell you that the community was shrinking and not growing.

There are not a few in there who just engaged in attacks without providing supporting evidence when asked. I noticed that when pressed for evidence, they tended to disappear for a while.

Oh, it most certainly was phony. Look at it. There is not one single poster on that list that has spoken up to support harmony's hostage takeover. Rather, a couple of posters took the time to correct harmony, but she simply ignored all of those posts (see Blixia, RoP).

In fact, I have good reasons to believe there are some hostages who flat out disagree with harmony's assertions and do not support her cause at all.

Harmony is noticeably perturbed now, and now she claims that three more have left to join her hostages. That is five individual people gone by her account, although she doesn't quite explicate beyond that.

I think it's rather late in the game for you to bring this up, GoodK. You yourself were a participant on the thread you linked to in the OP. There are multiple threads about this "mod experiment". As I understand it, there will be some sort of follow up discussion about how it all went.

If you think harmony "bamboozled" the board into making her a moderator, that doesn't explain cksalmon and marg as new moderators.

Although I haven't been reading the board overall as much as I used to, I think they're doing a fine job.

Being a moderator is a totally thankless job. Mod's, who previously spent their time as participants, then have to devote time to mod duties. It's no exactly fun and the pay is pretty crummy.
