Not just ridiculous, but easily dispatched as well. Back-slapping for people who don't think DCP is a villain can be hard to come by here. Allow me to do a little for you. Nice work.

I thought I'd never see the day.

Mister Scratch peels back another layer. I feel even worse now for the junior apologists who feel dejected over their inability to attend these conferences all over the country.
Anyway, I think the general thrust of what Scratch has said carries the day, and the objections have easily been dispatched.

Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

It carries nothing, though. Scratch's thrust that is.

Way to not really say anything at all. Hopefully you made Scratch feel a little better, though.

That's a given.
My best advice to Dan is for him to simply ignore it.
Evidently.
Scratch appears to feel empowered by "besting" someone who presumably holds a higher rank, academically speaking.
You don't know this. You assume this. No one knows what rank Scratch holds.
Scratch has felt slighted or attacked by Dan in the past, and feels such a thing is a part of Dan's very makeup; he quite literally is an evil person in Scratch's view; though they've never really met and Dan knows nothing more about Scratch than he presents in a fake internet persona. So for all this time Scratch has taken a strange and hostile interest in whatever he can find out about Dan.
Incorrect in several details.
He has "informants" (people like Rollo Tomasi, for example) who send him private messages and news updates.
No one knows who Scratch's informants are, although I personally doubt that one of them is Rollo.
He feels that with an "ace in the hole" he can expose and ruin Peterson, much like he believes Peterson "ruined" Michael Quinn, for example.
I don't think "ruin" is what Scratch has in mind. "Reform" might be a better word. And I don't think he blames Daniel for solely ruining Mike Quinn. It's more of the whole LDS apologists as a group thing.
Oddly, much of what he accuses Peterson of doing, he himself does.
And you find this surprising why?
Such is the life of a Californian college student named Mister Scratch.
Again, you have no way of knowing if this is true or not. So does that make you a mini-Scratch?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I said "appears." It is shear scratchian conjecture, of course, but seems to be fair play according to scratch.

So scratch has met DCP?

I said people like Rollo. (I suspect he is one, of course, but left it open.)

Right, the false "monolith" thing.
Oddly, much of what he accuses Peterson of doing, he himself does.
And you find this surprising why?
Blatant hypocrisy is, by definition, blatant.

Good grief, Blair. Why on earth would I want to "do lunch" with the individual who writes such things?

maklelan wrote:Mister Scratch wrote:And there's nothing wrong with that. Curiously, you seem to be very upset at the thought of DCP getting "comped."
I couldn't care less, but I happen to know that wasn't the case, and I'm not convinced letting you and your ilk cackle uninterrupted about those dirty "Mopologists" and their elitist connections is the best thing for people out there who don't know any better. Don't throw the accusation out there and then whine about how I'm not allowed to care about correcting you.
It seems to me, objectively speaking, that you are the one doing the "whining," my dear Maklelan. And let's face facts here: the Mopologists, such as Hamblin and DCP, *do* have "elitist connections." They boast about them constantly. Surely you'll be able to concede a simple, objective point such as that.
Mister Scratch wrote:Can you supply some more objective evidence, beyond your undeniably "subjective" assertions and observations? After all, simply following DCP around isn't exactly "objective," unless you somehow manged to read both his and the booksellers' minds.
And what evidence would suffice? A receipt? An affidavit? Perhaps a deposition? Shall I travel to Boston (on my own dime!) and dig through the trash? Would that earn me your respect? Can't I please have your respect? Pretty please?
I told you how it went down. You're just incapable of losing a point to a dirty little Mormon. Such a ridiculous point, too.[/quote]
I'm a Mormon too, Mak. As for the evidence, why don't you put your skills as a forger to work for you? ; ) I hope you've repented, my dear friend.

A low blow, Scratch, not at all up to your usual standard.
