Lamanite, you can ask the mods over on the MADness board who did the editing. They stole your words, in effect.

I really do want to know who did it. Ask them and then let me know what they say. They obviously thought they were trying to help you and make me look the idiot in the process. That they missed the threat in the first place and did not censure you at all, tells me a little bit about them already.

Are the moderators over there Mormons?

This is all such quite odd behavior to me. And I once thought church basketball was dangerous. Sheesh.

What was the point I was making? Are you sure you get it?

Bizarre and yet not surprising; violence is a core teaching of Mormonism.
by the way Gramps, threat of financial destruction on the likes of some make little impact when they don’t have a pot to piss in..
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

So just let me know how you want to handle this. We can handle it like gentlemen or we can get into some of that Gangster s***.

Lamanite wrote:My pride makes this difficult to do, especially since I don't want it to seem like I'm reacting to Gramps' threat of Government retaliation. In all actuality it's my religion that prescribes apologies and sincere repentance.

To those whom I've frightened; I'm deeply sorry. I'm not that person anymore. To those who've perceived a threat of violence I'm sorry, my mouth moves faster than my good sense.

I am a happy family man now with a decent living. I love and serve those around me. But today I allowed myself to lose track of who and what I stand for.

PM me if there is something I can do to make amends. Just tell me what I can do to make it right. Much Love!

I didn't see this before my last post. Well said, Lamanite, and I respect your apology to Gramps. Nevertheless, it seems you still have lingering anger issues (many of us do), so getting professional help can only be a positive. Good luck!

I think getting angry is natural. What is unnatural is Mormonsim. It's clear the religion has little effect on men when the chips are down. All that wonderful talk of puppy dogs and rainbows gets thrown out the window when the testosterone starts flowing.

Lamanite. Don't beat people up. That's bad. It's bad for you, for them, and for your family. Work out. Run. Smoke some weed. Do anything but actually beat people up. Self-defense? Sure. But angryman? No. That's bad. Time to grow up, brother.

Re: BIG UP! What is "BIG UP?"

Post by _solomarineris »

Until Lamanite's mentioning it, never heard of it.
I know "High Five", "Hang Loose", etc.,
What "BIG UP" mean? It means like "Up Yours" or something?
Not that I'd take any offence.

More two-facedness from LoaP. Tell me, Blair: Do you find problematic the many smear campaigns and character assassinations in the pages of FARMS Review? If so, I've certainly never seen you speak out against them. In fact, weren't you part of the jeering peanut gallery during the whole "Tal Bachman distorted Pres. Keyes" debacle? Do you approve of DCP's RfM archive, or the smear posts listed at SHIELDS? Would you dare speak out agains the powers-that-be at SHIELDS, FAIR, or FARMS?

No. Of course not.

I don't know if I get it, but I jus don't get it. I don't see any punch in the throat. I see Lamanite might be a bit arrogant, but I don't see that the MAD post has anything wrong in it or of offence other than a bit of arrogance.

Ok, you changed my opinion.

Mister Scratch wrote:This is fascinating. Why is it, I wonder, that Mopologists all-too-frequently fall back on threats of violence? Both DCP and The Nehor threatened *me* with physical violence, with The Nehor threatening, in effect, to disembowel me, and DCP suggesting that he would like to murder me with his assault rifle. I find it very sad that, when the chips are down, these individuals are incapable of civil debate and conversation. It must have something to do with the Mopologetic mind-set. Even a nebbish and relatively innocuous type like LoaP had begun to suggest that his rage was threatening to boil over in a physically violent fashion.

You seriously don't take it serious do you?

I think it saddens me that it is mostly church members that have a threatening aproach, but I don't think it should be taken serious.

A poster has admitted to having a criminal history, episodes of physical violence and then threatens another with violence. I think that should be taken very seriously and condemned by both sides.

Gramps is right in reporting this. Hopefully, he has.

At the personal invitation of Gramps, who apparently thinks that I need to take a stand on this thread, I've just hastily skimmed through the preceding "discussion."

I'm not exactly sure why I needed to. I just found it rather strange.

But I did get a kick out of seeing Mister Scratch try to raise his old claim again, about my alleged threat to murder him with my assault rifle.

Oh, I'm really the violent type. All who know me live in fear of my volcanic temper. If you see me coming, you'd better step aside. A lot of men didn't, and a lot of men died. One fist of iron, the other of steel -- if the right one doesn't get you then the left one will. You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask off that old Lone Ranger, and you don't mess around with me. Because I'm bad, bad Peterson -- baddest man in Mormondom. Badder than old King Kong, and meaner than a junkyard dog.

I sometimes wonder if Scratch did a drama degree before he turned to his present studies. My wife did a drama degree, and she's pretty good. She can summon up convincing tears, persuasive shudders, and high indignation on command. It's really quite impressive. Of course, Mister Scratch is only doing it with words, via electrons, so that's not quite in the same league.
