cks,

Aren't you still going to moderate? I think you all did a wonderful job and I loved seeing your gay stamps! :-) I won't debate the situation with you. I said what was on my mind and that's all I have to say about it.

Not unless and until it is made clear that such is desired by the powers that be.

Until then, despite the present green, I consider myself an ex-temp-mod.

Interestingly, the first LDS board I ever posted on had no rules, except one: "Be nice to each other." LOL. The sole moderator and owner of the board seldom posted, and seldom moderated. Whenever he temporarily came back he would say, "now remember, be nice to each other." Then he'd be gone for weeks, sometimes several months. All hell would sometimes break loose, but the worst chastisement came from other posters, and shunning by others was a worse penalty than being suspended or banned.

Well, when you and the powers that be get to talking turkey over this temp mod stuff, tell them that you, marg and harmony get this vote from me:

Just a brief thank you to the moderators for their efforts.

I appreciate it very much. I have no complaints about the moderation thus far.
I detest my loose style and my libertine sentiments. I thank God, who has removed from my eyes the veil...

You know, Ray, it's so ironic that I started on a board with virtually no moderation at all and anyone who knows that, knows I'm no stranger to all hell breaking loose or being a major contributor to the breaking loose of all hell and when I started on Z, it was a huge adjustment to a moderated board but I grew to really like that community.

I guess that after so much time and experience, I've grown to reject people who fail to value other human beings and I've seen alot of that going on here on MDB in the form of personally directed innuendo, smear, character attacks, gossip, distortion and I just don't think it's healthy for that to be part of what goes into my head by virtue of reading it on a board where a thread has devolved into little else but that. I don't like that it goes into my head or that I begin to adopt those "behaviors" myself because after a while it becomes the social norm and I don't realize that it's changing the way I think or how I respond to people.

I spent a long time on a board where I had to rely on a thick skin to "survive" and while part of me is very thick skinned, these days I grow tired of deflecting negative comments and see no profit in it for me at all. Where once I did so in order to enjoy the novelty of posting online, the novelty has worn off and I made a choice not to engage in it any longer. Why put up a fight when the fight isn't even real or the people relevant to me and my life?

Well, whatever.

Isn't there a part of the Articles of Faith that references dwelling on things that are praise worthy? (I ought to be able to recite it by now!)That's where it's at for me these days. I'm going to find it and embed it in this post!

I knew it was the last one at least!

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Dig it.

Well, the "better" exactly doubles the "worse."

So, other than GoodK and Mercury, is everyone satisfied with the current moderatorial team? Liz3564 and Scottie are going to stay, but the temporary mods are up for grabs. I see no compelling reason to let either marg, harmony, or cksalmon go, so if any or all of them wish to remain onboard as moderators, does anyone have any objections?

If you don't feel comfortable posting your reply here, feel free to PM me.

I almost forgot about this thread. :-) No one has replied with regards to the mods one way or the other. Well, I've been largely camped out on one thread, but when I have poked around into other threads, I've seen nothing that should give reason not to keep the temp. mods. It looks to me that they've done a good job working through the experiment, picking out personal attack and made good on their offer to mod the pinned thread.

for what it's worth, I say keep the temp mods so long as they're willing.

I have no problem with any of the mods.
