Droopy, don't overdose on your self-righteousness.

As sinners of the filthiest sort. Sidelined. Condemned, especially if they keep the child.
The problem with Mormonism’s version of repentance is LDS male leaders are fixated on young women’s virginities and then they are the grantor of a remission of sins following a complete and detailed confession. It’s really disgusting.
I'm not going to argue that you're wrong, scottie. But how many times are the young men instructed that they are responsible for the virtue of the girls?
Girls get it from the pulpit in GC, that they're walking porn, for pity's sake
That it's the girls fault if the young men stumble and can't go on their missions.
At least the boys only get hammered in priesthood meeting, not every frickin' time they are together.
And how many times are the boys held responsible for the pregnancy?
Seems to me like the girls are the ones hammered on repeatedly to keep their legs closed, while the boys get a slap on the wrist about keeping their zipper up.
Jason Bourne wrote:Often. Many times a year. One of the items listed under the purposes of the Aaronic Priesthood is to respect and give appropriate treatment to young women. I guarantee that telling them they should not rob a girl of her virtue is emphasized as part of this.
Yes I know that silly statements on how a girl dresses can impact a young man are made. But come listen to a general priesthood session and you will find statements about how no priesthood holder would ever do anything to put a young woman's virtue in peril.
I think you misconstrue some statements that YW receive to say something they don't. Sure YW are encouraged to stay morally clean and help keep the young men that date that way too. But blamed for not going on a mission or YM not getting similar admonitions? Hardly.
Do you attend weekly priesthood meetings with the boys?
You are out in left field on this one.
I wish I was. I really wish I was
Jason Bourne wrote:Take my word for it. You are. This is put before the YM all the time. There is not some idea that the boys are not taught sexual purity and that it is all on the girls watch, that they are the ones responsible. Feel free to chalk up points for what is said to whom when. But over all the boys are taught over and over again their role in honoring young women, staying chaste and making sure young women they interact with are treated that way.

Young men are often times pushed through the repentance process to go on a mission. Kind of a wink and a nod from the bishop type of thing.

This is something I don't understand. A young man going on a mission cannot have fiscal responsibilities. So how can a young man who has fathered a child be given a wink and a nod, and sent on a mission? He has fiscal responsibilities that will last for 18 years. Yet the High Councilman's son went, his pregnant girlfriend notwithstanding. She's no longer a member; he's married in the temple. She was sacrificed on the altar of the boy's Daddy's pride. And everyone looked the other way.
Don't tell me girls and boys in this situation are treated equally. What matters is how high up on the food chain the boy's daddy is. Higher than rank and file, and he's given a free pass. Rank and file, and they're both treated like pariahs, instead of just the girl getting that treatment.
