It wasn't long until I decided Chloe needed to be weaned from "Bunny" to straight milk, so each day I put a little less bunny in the sippy. It got to the point where Chloe began inspecting her sippy cup before she'd take a drink to see if the milk inside looked brown enough. If it didn't, she'd screech and fling her cup across the room. Eventually, she got used to drinking plain white milk. She still loves bunny, though, and we can never run low or she starts freaking out just like my cats do when the Meow Mix is nearly gone from their bowl.
Chloe also sucked her thumb until she was six years old. She only ever sucked her left thumb while pulling her right ear with her right hand. One night, while cuddling in bed with her, I said, "You sure do like your left thumb, Chloe. It must taste good. What does it taste like?"
She pulled her left thumb out of her mouth long enough to say, "Bunny."
I asked her what her right thumb tasted like.
She stuck it in her mouth only briefly, made a face, and replied, "Dirt."
Left thumb=delicious bunny. Right thumb=dirt.
To this day, at my house, "You suck Dirt Thumb!" is a terrible insult. I made it up myself.
There are couple of posters here who suck Dirt Thumb. Hard. But I don't say it to them; it's far to mean. I just think it. ;)
