Came across this tonight. Apparently the bird has been on various t.v. shows.

"Lazy Monday" is the West Coast response to "Lazy Sunday" from SNL

If you haven't seen "Lazy Sunday" yet, click here before watching the West Coast version.

Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn't seen it)

A few years ago I had a girl who worked for me who had only seen Episode I, so I had her to go and watch Episode IV (on the clock). She was really surprised how good it was.

That was awesome. I just watched the first 3 (IV-VI) with my kids for the first time last weekend. We are going to try the other ones this weekend.

Aww...let them enjoy the original trilogy for a little while before it get's crapped on with the prequels. Also keeping in mind that the prequels are more enjoyable when you haven't recently (or ever) seen the Old Testament. It helps avoid awkward comparisons like this one and this one. (And this one.)

You know, there is a theory out that the only reason we like the first three more is that we saw them when we were kids. These "people" also say that the first 3 and the last 3 suck equally the same.

See my post above. I tested that theory by having a woman in her 20's who had seen Episode 1 watch Episode 4. She hated Episode 1, and was surprised at how good Episode 4 was (and she quickly watched 5 and 6).

Granted, this is a single test case. And she would have been fired if she had said otherwise. But still...

Exhibit 2: "Star Wars" was highly regarded when it was released in '77, and was even nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. It is on the Library Of Congress National Film Registry, and it's #15 on the AFI Top 100 American Films list. "Star Wars" has a RT rating of 95% (ESB=97%), whereas Episode 1 weighs in at 63%.

So I think there might be a little more to it than "experience-bias".
