I've never had a cat. I'm a dog guy.

Let me tell you about Salem (named for the town in Mass that burned the witches at the stake)...

He started life in a railroad yard, where my BIL picked him and rescued him... to his barn. Unfortunately, his barn cats took instant exception to RC, for Railroad Cat as he was originally named had a problem with playing nicely with other animals, so my sis brought him to me. He was coal black with the longest tail in Catdom. He instantly took command of the house. He had claws that were almost an inch long, and if he didn't like you, he batted at you when you passed, claws out. Fortunately for me, he loved me. Unfortunately for all of my grandkids, he hated them. They called him Devil Cat, because he hissed at them, glaring constantly. I have one daughter in law who has red red carrot red hair. Salem hated her on sight. I think she reminded him of the burning witches.

He was an indoor cat (we have coyotes here), so when my sons brought their dogs, he generally went either high (onto the top of the cupboard in my bathroom) or low (under my bed). Once, the dogs thought they had him cornered. He bloodied the two of them pretty badly, and my sons thought it was my fault that I hadn't declawed him. I informed them that he would be dead, if he hadn't had his claws. They made sure their dogs minded them after that.

He's gone now, no doubt keeping the witches company. They would suit his disposition. I have another cat, Callie, who is the sweetest thing, but sometimes I still miss the Devil Cat.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Me too. I've always been a big wildlife fanatic, although never went in for hunting or killing of stuff.

I have a feeling at some point I'm going to go through a vegetarian spell. Bleh. The only thing holding me back are the many dishes that ground beef go into.

Well, I grew up eating lots of seafood and then when I moved stateside we ate steak allll the friggin' time. Urgh. I got so tired of red meat. I stopped eating red meat first because it just was too overbearing, for me, and then eventually just stopped eating chicken and pork. The less meat I ate the less heavy I felt - if that makes sense? I just feel less weighted down when I eat lots of fruits and veggies. I have to be careful to get all my vitamins, though. My kids eat meat and I'm not an anti-meat nut, it just doesn't suit me.

Why does the Cat have parcel stuff on it?

This is a funny thread, I think I have suddenly grown some more appreciation for you KA. :D

I think a bird would be better at playing piano.

My cat likes to paint, but I try to keep him away because when I am painting he puts his paws on what I am painting and makes a mess then makes a mess elsewhere, worse so if I am using paints. He is a craze ball likes paper too, though usually tries to sit on books when you are reading. I swear he thinks he is human. And, he took ownership of my bedroom since coming back to Uni. Little skank he is. I think the funniest thing I remember about my cat is that he would hang upside down under the bed and run up and down whilst upside down, it was really strange and he would run back and forth from my room throug the hall way and back over and over. This was whe he was little, he is now too big to go upside down under the bed.

I, too, have noticed that paint messes are much worse when there's paint involved.
