Moksha, do you think this artwork is trying to say that Gandalf tarried among "other sheep" before participating the the events leading up to the War of the Ring? He was known by many names to the people of Middle Earth, including Mithrandir (meaning Grey Pilgrim in the Sindarin tongue), Tharkun (among the Dwarves), and Greybeard (to the folk of Sauron). Perhaps Abinadi was another of his guises.

Or, Abinadi could have been one of the other Istari. Maybe Saruman back when he was a good guy, or more likely Radagast who was cloaked in brown just like in the artwork. Note that Radagast means "Tender of Beasts" and there's a great cat lounging in the background.

Hmmm... stuff to think about.

I'm going to pass this on to my associates at M-FAMES.

You know the art work in this thread along with the information in bcspaces thread on the rock in the hat would go far with some inactive youth like the rebellious emo kids who may start showing up in meetings in all black.

Why did they copy-and-paste Lehi's face onto Abinadi's head? Didn't they have the technical know-how to generate a unique face for Abinadi?

Also, The Dude, what does M-FAMES stand for?

The last thing FARMS needs is another dog-and-pony show promoting alternative theories to Book of Mormon geography.

I also love the suggested placements in the home..."Office and Living Rooms"? Idonthinkso...

I can just see it:

-Level 80 Lamanite Warrior - Arms Spec - (Racial traits = +5 damage with spears and polearms, +10 to leatherworking skill, weakness to wine.)

-Level 80 Zoramite Priest - Shadow Spec - (Racial traits = +15 damage to Prayer of the Unrighteous spell, +7 tailoring skill, -2% resistance to holy damage)

-Level 80 Nephite Paladin - Protection Spec - (Racial Traits = Reduce Lay on hands cooldown by 10 minutes, +15 expertise with two handed swords, +10 mining skill).

From the latest M-FAMES press release:

Are Oliphaunt And Curelom Synonymous? A Textual Analysis

Ether 9:19 wrote:And they also had horses, and asses, and there were elephants and cureloms and cumoms; all of which were useful unto man, and more especially the elephants and cureloms and cumoms.

Textual evidence from the Book of Mormon suggests that the curelom and the Middle Earth oliphaunt are one and the same. The words elephant and curelom occur in close proximity (separated by the conjunction and) which supports the theory that the curelom is an elephant-like beast. Further analysis of the text reveals that the words share common etymological roots. The ele from elephant and the elo from curelom indicate shared ancestry, especially when considering a translation from reformed egyptian where the specificity of certain vowel sounds is questioned. By taking the reverse of elo from curelom, we get ole, which is similar enough to the oli of oliphaunt to conclude that the pictured beast is the "useful" animal being discussed in Ether.

Clever, SK!

M-FAMES should be aware, however, that LGT proponents may try twist "ole" into evidence that Book of Mormon events occurred in Mesoamerica.
